I agree mostly with what you have said there.I'd be lying if I said I expected that sort of game but it wasn't a massive surprise either - the games vs City in Pep's first season were very similar with both sides not over committing. City weren't going to give us many opportunities to smother them and we weren't going to over commit and allow City to play through us - if ever there was a game that needed a goal to open things up it was today. All things considered I'm happy with a point - to be unbeaten, level on points at the top of the table despite not our attack still not clicking and having a harder start to the season fixture wise, isn't a bad situation to be in. I usually hate International breaks too but I think it's come at a good time for us to regroup and then end the month with Huddersfield, Red Star and Cardiff.
As in running out of steam? We've got plenty of cover and options in midfield and to an extent defence too, and while our biggest strength in the biggest games is our high tempo game, we're no longer a side that relies on steam rolling teams, scoring 3 or 4 to win. We're a much more complete, controlled side this season - even away to Chelsea, a side that's set-up to dominate possession, it was a relatively controlled performance, on the front foot with more possession than Chelsea rather than counter-pressing/counter attacking way we typically play in bigger games. I personally think we're still an attacking/creative player short to really give ourself the luxury of resting/rotating the front 3 a bit more but Sturridge looking half useful and Shaqiri give us more options than we had last season.I agree mostly with what you have said there.
My concern for your lot is you should not take the foot off the pedal. If that makes sense!?

Pathetic penalty from Mahrez and tbh a pathetic performance as well. Not sure how he’s getting a game ahead of Sane.
Why did they even give the penalty to him?![]()
Iwobi is playing with more confidence and direct runs, but his passing in midfield is still terrible. No way should he be getting picked regularly.
Just looked at the stats to make sure I wasn't doing him a disservice, and they are mediocre at best, 71.6% pass completion in the EPL. Worse than literally Arsenal every player I looked at - Laca/Auba/Wellbeck/Ozil/Mkhi/Ramsey/Xhaka/Torreira/Guendouzi all better on that front.
edit: Looking at full squad stats, the only player with worse completion is Petr Cech.
