Yay a television game...

And a must win one too :(

You'll all get to watch us play Clyne at LB and an average champ RM because Fox has cost us a million points and kicked a puppy this season. Plus we are already getting sort on fit players in the centre of midfield and can only hope Berbatov is still broken.

Hopefully Man Utd can put last years St James' nightmare behind them and get a good away win.

Gonna be a very hard game, in fact unless Newcastle have a mare I cant see us winning, I'd like to see the below but in all honesty I can see that midfield getting over powered but the alternative would be playing 3 in there and then playing Rooney out of position which I dont want to see either :/

---------------De Gea---------------
Rafael---Ferdinand---Evans---Evra
Nani-----Carrick---Scholes-----Cleverley
---------------Rooney
----------------RVP

Subs: Lindegaard, Wootton, Fletcher, Anderson, Kagawa, Hernandez, Welbeck

Just hope Fergie has learnt to forget playing Giggs from the start....

You haven't seen Newcastle play this year then I take it ;)

Both CB's are unknowns for this game, might be back, wouldn't be surprised if one of them at least wasn't, Simpson is probably back which is big, Cabaye as well so they have a chance but. As yet they really haven't clicked this season, outside of Ba being in form, which is a real danger for Utd, and Arfa being able to produce out of nothing, they haven't put in a good team performance yet this season.

We have no CB's so whilst we might get a goal or two Persie/Rooney should score a hatful between them.

Also, just to ask our resident Citeh fan, I remember arguing the toss in the transfer thread that you're signings in no way improved you and replacing De Jong was a regression. You disagreed, still disagreeing? :p

well the other problem for Newcastle is playing a game at 8pm tonight, Utd have had 2 extra days rest before that game.

Though it depends who they play tonight, its likely anyone that can play at CB is likely to have to play on Sunday and at least a few other players.

Brentford really need a good win to kickstart a push up the table, only one loss and not for a while but 3 draws in 4 isn't great if they want to be in the playoffs by the end of the season.

Spurs should still beat Villa, but Villa are improving and AVB's lack of rotation for Europa and cup games is going to become an issue. Take a look at Liverpools form when they've had the extra games to play, or Fulham, Newcastle, or you know Spurs. Redknapp ignoring the Europa helped push their league form and when they were in the champs league and playing a strong team, their league form took a hit for sure.

http://www.statto.com/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/2010-2011/results It takes more than a quick glance, factor in who you might have rested before a big game or before 2-3 games close to each other. Factor in a run of 4-5 important games leading to tiredness. There is seemingly to me a drop in form in patches around points in the CL, from first group game, any particularly busy period and then when the champs league restarted and the games got bigger the league form dropped off around the same time.

Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, City drop off form, as do Real, Barca, Bayern and others when you get busy periods of games. We'll see how Spurs react to going all out in every competition. Again it says to me inexperience from AVB, and a man who came from a league with one clearly superior team to everyone else and a Europa league that Falcao just tore apart for them.

I hope we stick with a more youthful team again.

----------Carrick
Nani-----Cleverley---Anderson
----------Rooney/Kagawa
-----------RVP

If Valencia's fit:

Valencia-----Cleverley---Anderson----Nani
--------------Rooney/Kagawa
-------------------RVP

While Scholes is great at controlling the game, he can't cope with speed in the midfield and gets too easily bypassed, he's best as a sub to bring on to control the midfield against tiring opposition, especially at a tough away ground.

Would indeed be perfect I think (maybe with Kagawa coming on after 60/70 minutes for Anderson if he isnt working)

Newcastle like to throw themselves around a bit (for the most part fairly) and Kagawa has said he needs to build up this part of his game, which is why I would leave him on the bench for this fixture unless Valencia isnt fit and Nani comes in (Im not sure we could cope with Nani and Anderson in the same starting line up, both with ? over their heads currently for me)

Buttner to start instead of Evra (just because Tuesday night was horrific for their goal)

We'll get beaten tomorrow. Not only are Crawley better than us, but they'll have three ex-Bees in their team... and we all know what that means!

They also have Jonno quick! (Forte) how seems to have found a place where his pace and monumental lack of talent can be put to use...

I actually wanted us to sign him in the summer. Pace is a massive attribute at this level, and he seemed to do really well for Notts Co. at the end of last season.

Instead, we've managed to repeat the feat of our summer signings the year before - turn a 25+ goal striker in to one who can barely run in a straight line (Farid El Alagui)... He hit the corner flag from a short on the six year box line on Tuesday night...

That said, Harlee Dean, whom we got from you guys on a free is arguably turning into one of the best defenders in the league! Don't think he'd be out of place in a Championship team at the moment!

Haha! You don't want Forte, his entire contribution to a season in L1 with us was 2 last min goals at home to MK Dons. That's all. I am amazed Crawley have gotten anything out of him (and had a look on odds for him to score). We are almost certainly set to release him at the end of the season as other than pace he is utterly useless.

Impressive you have broken a 25+ goal striker though! Should have been in for Barnard, though he's still a bit broken.

Good to see Dean is coming along! I like seeing our ex academy players doing well for them selves.

We broke Clayton Donaldson the season before - got 11 goals in 51 games last season :(

We also had ex-Southampton Wunderkid Mark Peters a while ago. The kid who was meant to be tracked by Man UTD! Didn't last long... Still quite a bit of bad blood between us and you though! :(
