We broke Clayton Donaldson the season before - got 11 goals in 51 games last season :(

We also had ex-Southampton Wunderkid Mark Peters a while ago. The kid who was meant to be tracked by Man UTD! Didn't last long... Still quite a bit of bad blood between us and you though! :(

Ha I think most of our fans wind just about every team in the country up. I don't even like or identify with most of our fan base... (they embarrass me about how 4-4-2 is amazing and pace is the king of footballs)

Mark Peters once hailed as the new Alan Shearer :D

My current ex-wonder(ish) kid I am following is Matt Paterson who's finally building a career for him self at Burton Albion! He got a straight red for a tackle against Vidic in the 09 fa cup game...

Haha! Our bad blood is actually down to a ticketing fiasco when we played you in the FA Cup a while ago. And then you went and stole Ryan Dickson off us on a tribunal and avoided paying an extra £25,000 installment as one more game would have incurred the additional fee... so you kept him in the reserves and loaned him out! Admitedly he's not the best of players...

Peters was god awful - I think his signing is the one I've most been excited about...

I've got a game of FM 2012 going with Bath City - and I picked up James Ward-Prowse up on a freebie after the first season. In his third season, he's the first name on the team sheet and in the England U19's. So he's going to be the Soton player I keep an eye out for from now.

He any good? :)

Ahhh! Well you can have Dicko back, he's useless! The last of Pardews signings and quite possibly one of the worst... I was peeved when we had you away towards the end of the L1 promotion season you gave us a minimal allocation and I wasn't allowed to sit quietly in the home end :( ticketing is always a mess of opinion anyway so its hardly the end of the world.

James Ward-Prowse!!! Used to be a pompy season ticket holder :D (we need to think up a song about that at some point). Anyway he's absolutely quality. He's still 17 and 4th choice midfield, but has had to play loads so far (Cork, Davis and Schniderlin have all beed developing fitness/getting round small knocks). Basically he's an amazing passer of the ball, full of confidence and energy. He is a good tackler and most importantly can read the game really well.

I think he'll be the next big thing in English football, we are training him up in the mould of having effectively 2 midfielders sitting in front of the defence, both good at tackling but also both really good at passing around the park and driving forward when needs be. FM12 has him underrated. He has a really bright future at the club, provided we stick playing the really nice football we've been giving a go.

(as that shows I am far too excited about him to make coherent sense)

Also, just to ask our resident Citeh fan, I remember arguing the toss in the transfer thread that you're signings in no way improved you and replacing De Jong was a regression. You disagreed, still disagreeing? :p
We had a good transfer window imo. Of course signing Hazard and De Rossi would have been better on paper, who knows they might have been rubbish and then we would be blasted for wasting money and hoarding all the best players in Europe.

On paper to some it may not look like we have improved but we have imo and the new players just need time to settle.
It's funny that everyone will turn around immediately and say SHOULD HAVE SIGNED X NOT Y HE'S RUBBISH when a player doesn't make an immediate impact.
Were you privy to City's transfer dealings and so you know the reasons we couldn't get player X and we went for Y?

We had to replace De Jong, he wouldn't sign a new contract. What was we supposed to do? keep him and pay him for a year then let him go for nothing?

Very easy to say in hindsight that selling De Jong was a bad move.

No, it was very easy NOT in hindsight to say selling him was a bad move, thats why everyone said it, before you sold him ;)

As for not signing a contract, well, thats what happens when you have a quality player who deserves to start every game and you play a complete bag of crap every game instead. Barry for De Jong.... lol.

I think most people think there has been no obvious improvement in the squad, potentially some improvement in the back up but that is about it.

A back four and Lescott + Kompany was both the best partnership and the best line up/formation City could put out, replacing a truly awful 4th choice CB, for a new 4th choice CB is a sideways move. The fact that Mancini is peeing around with the 4th choice CB in a back 3 and that is an improvement on if he was doing the same with Savic is neither here nor there, he shouldn't be doing it full stop.

If you took your best starting 11 from last year and improved that would be, replacing Barry with someone better... he didn't, replacing Milner with someone better... potentially if Garcia improves you could say he did but, not really, you don't need another defensively minded player, you needed an offensively minded player who just isn't poor defensively, not the other way around. Likewise I would have bought an out and out speed demon/winger because Silva + Nasri combo failed on so many occasions to bring about a real push from midfield to upfront. Those two playing wide weren't very capable of taking it from the half way line to a goal scoring chance, very poor at taking it from deep in your own half to a goal scoring chance when counter attacking, they are classic final third players and pressure makes both crumble.

Has City's first choice 11 improved, not at all, is SInclair better than Johnson, maybe, is Maicon a big improvement, nope, is Garcia a massive improvement on De Jong, nope, is the 4th choice CB, sure, but he should still be the 4th choice CB.

City's biggest problem is Mancini, he'll ruin the team chasing euro glory he simply isn't capable of, he might fluke it but desparate plans in a formation he can't organise or train players for just to try and turn around his poor Euro form is doing FAR more harm than good.

There isn't a player in the team who looks better than they did last year, while the entire back line looks worse, Hart had a truly exceptional game but looks worse overall, Yaya, Silva, Aguero, Nasri all look worse, Barry.... crap but even less fit and sharp than usual.

im back. did u miss me lads? is DM still moaning about Wenger?

Do i want wenger sack still?

Is liverpool going to be relegated?

Should i start not hating on city?

Has RVP broke a leg yet?

Fair play on getting all those questions out the way. :p

1) DM - not as much.
2) I think you want him gone?
3) Nah, willing to place a wager they won't go down if you want. :p
4) May as well!
5) If he has, he is playing alright for a bloke with 1 broken leg.

Really hoping for a win against Hudderfield, Players such as Gomis and Morrison seem to not even make it even on the sub bench and there the players that are capable of making a pass and retaining the ball. Even Redmond seems to not make it to the starting 11. Lee Clark needs to sort things out quickly, as theres already rumours that some players are ignoring him and doing there own thing. I will always support the manager but i feel i'm in the minority.

So what do people think about Neal Ardley as potential new Wimbledon manager? Too risky? I think he has potential to be a great choice but would be worried about appointing someone inexperienced when we're so close to dropping out of the league.

I just want Wimbledon to stay up however they go about it. It's good having them back in the league and would be even better if they could progress further too.

Not sure if we should revert to playing unattractive football though, I think under Ardley we'd be quite a decent passing side but it's just the lack of experience may be an issue. Alternative is Andy Scott by the looks of it. More reliable but he's a bit of a **.

As long as we stabilise in the meanwhile until the new stadium is sorted, would be quite happy with that (and a few cup runs).
