I haven't seen a single thing to make me optimistic about the season ahead, Wijnaldum looks a good player but we still have fundamental flaws in the squad which haven't been addressed despite 3 decent signings.
I expect more of the same scrapping for relegation and **** football and none football related drama being the most interesting stuff to go on all season.
On another note, why the **** are we playing 1330 on a Sunday when there is no other European games or other reasons to push it to then. It isn't televised, baffling.
Judging on McLaren's team selections so far, I'm not at all optimistic about our opening game this weekend. So much so that I've put Pelle in my fantasy team, as I think he'll have a field day against Williamson and Taylor.
If it were me picking the team for this weekend:

Throw Sissoko wide right, Perez behind Mitro and Winegum along side Anita and that's what I would go with.
Going on what McClaren has/hasn't said Aarons and Perez will unfortunately start on the bench. de Jong #10, Obertan LW, and Sissoko RW is my guess. And then there's Colback running around like a retard leaving aches of space.
Sissoko is wasted out wide. Perez and Aarons seem to be the only players for us who can do something out of nothing, so I'd take the gamble and play both, especially at home. De Jong just hasn't looked fit at all, and not sure he will ever be the player he used to be energy wise, he hasn't lost his touch.
I can't stand watching Colback play, he just wanders round aimlessly doing nothing at all. And he's meant to be our set piece specialist, yet can't deliver a decent ball to save his life.
I wouldn't worry about a lack of goals on Saturday if, as expected, Garry picks Fernandez to partner Ash in defence.I'm a bit nervous about this season, Chelsea seem to be the only side who haven't improved their squad so far and with Costa's hamstrings that means we'll struggle for goals as has been evident in pre-season.
