Almost top of the listings!

Been a long, long summer without league football. The a World Cup certainly helped, and the Commonwealth games were decent too, but the first pre-season friendly starts getting the juices flowing for this weekend ;)

Home to Charlton. Only our second season at the level since just after the war, and we can finally play against big teams in bigs stadiums. Don't get me wrong, I love the little grounds too, but there's a bit of a different between Gigg Lane and Elland Road!

So excited!

I can imagine how you must be feeling. :D Good luck. :)

Have you now got the go ahead and a completion date for the new stadium?

Sorry Cosimo, just saw this. The planning has been approved for the ground and the flats, the finances are in place and we don't have to share with a rugby club after all! :D I think we're just waiting for a few remaining businesses on the premises to be bought out, and then work and commence.

It's going to be truly beautiful! Because of the lack of space on the site - it's a weird triangle shape - the stadium will retain the close and cramped style of all the best old London football grounds, but I think our "pub on each corner" record will sadly disappear.

It's certainly going to be cosy!

The location is a little out of the way:

Tucked between the Great West Road and Kew Bridge. What capacity?

Actually, I think it's a great location. Right next to Kew Bridge, so transport should be easier and only a mile from the current stadium. It'll house the community sports trust as well, which is a large local charity which is associated with the club. Apparently it's going to be such a tight fit that the stadium will sit only a metre away from the trains passing behind!

20,000 capacity. I'm not sure whether we're going to have room to build on it if we do achieve any real success, but the plan is to play good, attacking and attractive football in order to get the locals through the gates. Hopefully will be ready for the 2016/2017 season, but I reckon it could be the year after as work hasn't started yet.

I have absolutely no idea how we will do tomorrow let a lone this season.

Millwall is an annoying place to go first game, it's their cup final.

We are still trying to get 2/3 people in and also the new players need time to gel so I can imagine a slow start like Watford a couple of seasons back.

Hope springs eternal for the football fan.

Roll on tonight; first game! Roll on Saturday too .

Yeah, first half we looked decent, but second half we were so far off the pace it was crazy. There is promise there at least.

Interesting Fulham lineup today!

Jesse Joronen, Tim Hoogland, Kostas Stafylidis, Shaun Hutchinson, Nikolay Bodurov, Scott Parker (C), Moussa Dembele, Emerson Hyndman, Chris David, Cameron Burgess, Ross McCormack
Subs: Marcus Bettinelli, Thomas Eisfeld, Patrick Roberts, Cauley Woodrow, Hugo Rodallega, Mark Fotheringham, Dan Burn

Highlighted our academy players, not too bad! Burn and David both from our U21's too.

Gonna be a loooong season.

Two poor teams playing poorly. Terrible game!

Chris O'Grady made the worst debut I have seen today. he looks awful. The big guy up front for Wednesday isn't bad. We could do with someone like him

Not a very good day. At least it wakes Cellino up that the dross of last season can't cut it this season neither.

Ross had a stinker for Fulham.
