Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [Sunday 13th May 2012]

Well done to City. Happy with our points total, better than last year. City I must say deserved champions on the strength of their squad. Yeah we had our moments in the sun and yeah we blew it at home to Everton but City are up there and won it. The debate of winning it or buying it is for a later date.

Well done Blues.

We want our trophy back, we want our trophy back

Oh, we'll get it back.

And who we have to sell to raise funds, because realistically, were not gonna see any major amount of money coming from the current ownership. A paltry £50 million last season, too much money is going out of the club to service debt and into the Glazers personal accounts.

Well, I don't know how our very complex finances are but I'm sure some funds will come from somewhere.

We're level on points with City for goodness sake, we just need a few improvements, we don't need a £50 million pound player or anything like that.

I think if we had Vidic we'd have won the league, and we'll have him next season so that's a big boost. Everyone has been constantly praising Kompany and our Kompany has been missing.

Obviously it'll depend on what City do as well, I don't know what their plans are for signings other than that they are looking at Hazard.

I dont disagree with that all - however before we know anything really about Cleverley we need to see him play for a whole season not just 1/4 of it, although he certainly shows a lot of promise

Cleverley hasn't really played enough to be judged properly yet. He doesn't seem all that great from what we've seen of him so far. He started off quite well (I remember that excellent attacking move early in the season with Rooney for example), but whenever he's made a sub appearance he's looked a bit absent. He needs a proper run of games.

If we intelligently bolster the midfield with some quality (not outrageously expensive quality) then we'll be in good stead. I would quite like a striker too as Hernandez isn't a complete player and Welbeck is all over the place at times.

The club had no need to apologize on Tevez' behalf. It just makes the whole scenario more embarrasing for all parties.

I thought it was a good move by Man City. He's representative of them and they know he's an idiot so tried to save face.

Him retracting the apology now means they can't do that, which now will further increase the likelihood of him leaving, especially as they can replace him easily.

The fact that City issued the apology as quickly as they did proves they know what Tevez did was ill-advised and would land them in hot water but hey ho he did nothing wrong didn't he :o

People who dislike Man Utd are going to say that, it's no surprise.

In a professional capacity, it was idiotic. Of course only Man Utd fans are offended, why would anyone else be?

The fact Man City were so fast to issue a sincere apology says it all really. If you think they shouldn't have done and that it's not unprofessional - fine.
