What if a children went to that Youtube link... And heard a swear word?!?!? THEN WHAT?

What if they followed the OP, took this as ironic advertising and started indulging in copious amounts of baked goods? What is this country coming to, AMIRITE?!?

Public choice versus a nanny state. sort of.

I often nip into Greggs for a corned beef pasty. Bloody lovely, nom nom nom. Best thing about Greggs is that the people who go there are not stuck up pretentious social climbing fakers like you see in Waitrose, strutting around with their noses so high in the air, you're half expecting them to fall over backwards. Salt of the earth dole scum in Greggs. What you see is what you get. My kind of people. :D

What annoyed me about Gregg's (during my recent visit to the UK) is that the food is no longer kept hot.. (for tax reasons or whatever??) Anyway, so i bought a couple of my old favs, chicken bakes, and 2 out of the 3 i bought were congealed and cold !!!!! WTF !! Actually on the 3rd I asked the woman IS THIS GONNA BE HOT before i buy it, she said yes, so i bought it and took a bite of barely lukewarm bake. That was my last quid going to them. Piping hot, they're nice, cold and congealed, they're nasty...

Never been in greggs but then im a healthy person. I wonder how they make there food so cheap, god knows whats in it.

Pastry costs basically nothing to them, they'll buy their stuff in total bulk.

The filling is just cheese, sausagemeat, beans, cheap meat etc. It's no shock that they can sell the end product for cheap.

I like greggs, i usually get two chicken bakes and one of those custard ice doughnuts.

I much prefer pasty though, there was a cornwall pasty shop that opened opposite my work, didn't even last a year, next door to a greggs, the greggs is still open and always busy.

I just wish the chicken and steak bakes tasted better, they are so bland compared to other pie i have had before and its not even a proper pie realy, its just a "bake".

If I were to have a bit of a cheat meal or a treat, I'd prefer to support an artisan baker, or somewhere that actually makes good quality food. Do people actually like this stuff?

I;m not seeing it....

I remember when we first got a Greggs in one of the town centres. We were all used to the various local bakers, one of which made the best steak "bridies" in the world (actually won the award, for realz).

Greggs don't do steak bridies. They do "steak bakes". I remember the woman behind the counter making a complete deal out of me asking for a bridie and being a cow about the whole situation.... So any time I ever went to Greggs after that, damn straight I asked for a BRIDIE every time hoping for handbags at dawn. But none of the other workers ever corrected me :(

Where I live now though, we do not have a Greggs within 100 miles. Subway seems to be the Greggs of this place.

lol I just love it that there is always someone who puts a north spin on this kind of stuff ..... you know they have made it out of the north as well :-)
