Grey or Brown?

As you can see, the colour on a given spot is 6f6e66. As each of the RGB components of the colour are within a few points of each other, I think it can reasonably be termed grey, it being equal parts of all colours of the spectrum. However, they not being perfectly equal, it is technically off-grey.

That's all well and good but I can't imagine the guy has white-balanced the photo, his camera/phone or anything.. thus rendering an inspection fairly useless. Given the amount of sunlight coming in the image looks tinted lightly towards the blue end (you'd expect the sunlight to be more yellowy) which indicates he may have taken some of the orange out. So it may be more brown/orange IRL.

OP should ask the guy to hold up a Macbeth. It's the only way ;)
