I tried Grid 2 and am fed up with its uncanny similarities to PGR3. Its Evo track layouts are predictable and is purely based on DLC, or for those unfamiliar with it online urchasing content. I used to have an XBox360 and went online and raced on PGR3 and 4. Forza Motorsport wasn't bad but the Crown jewel was Racedriver Grid.
You got your achievements by online and offline racing and earned your money for your own purchased through your team. Now the game has turned into a self centred ego trip. Fine if you love only yourself. But Going back to doing the season where you end up in the low ranks at LeMans and gradually build yourself through the rankings season after season. Grid 2 says out loud you can have it all in 5 minutes if you have the money. There is a certain stability to know where you are going next and to learning the track layouts but in the new one you don't get the same track twice if they can help it.
Going from an Xbox360 to a PC version is different, I even had to make changes to the Grid system so it can work with my Core i7. And no I haven't got a Haswell, I have a core i7 3770K. I brought the Game from a broker and installed it on my setup and have so far started out as a beginner because I wanted to get used to the game again. The good thing about Grid is that you can change your proficiancy level at anytime. It not only helps you but also earns you Kudos and more money for the team.
Instead of running it on my Windows 7 drive I am running it on my Windows Vista setup. Things are becoming familiar to me now, but Codemasters must think the rest of us are fools if they think that Stealing ideas from Bizarre and Microsoft can solve their failings in origianl creationism. I don't think I have spoke to an original Grid player whom likes Grid 2. But let me know what you think.
