Grid - 360 vs PS3

Games are always better on the pc to look at, higher rez textures and the fact you can have higher AA and 16xaf which makes a big difference as it pushes the quality of the texturs further back, most of the console games i played lack any AF imo.

If they are done correctly they always will as they have superior gpu's only stands to reason really, put it like this i bet gta4 on the pc looks superior in every way to the console version.

How does it look on your PC at the moment?? ;)

If you want the best version its worth the wait as its was appauling on my ps3 when i had it ,a total joke. I aint getting pulled into constant posts over this as i have a 360 now and am happily playing bf bad company so i am not anti consoles or anything, but imo pc games look better, end.

I agree with you, games do generally tend to look sharper and have the ability to use higher levels of AA and AF on PC...

HOWEVER, good luck finding a £250 PC that can run the same games at the detail levels and speed as a console does.

;)

I have played all three versions, 360 and PS3 look similar... 360 is a little sharper. Have it on PC and of course it looks a lot better (AA, higher res etc.).

heh:p blame the poster who mentioned PC's in this thread in the first place.:D

Hehe, sorry guys :)

It was meant to be a joke. Of course its going to look better on my £1000 PC... its twice the price of a PS3 () and 4 times the price of a 360, Id expect it to be better.

If you have a PC and a console, then get the PC version and buy a 360 pad for your PC with the money you save (PC games are always cheaper than consoles), but if you have only consoles, does it really matter? Choose the one for the console you like the controller on best?

Full RGB on my previous panel looked like you say. However, full RGB on my new panel (which fully supports it) looks a million times better and not washed out in the slightest, which is the opposite to what you're saying.

I thought off the top of my head this was for Blu Ray movies.
Games dont use anywhere near the billions of colours available so i VERY much doubt that ANY games will make much benifit from this.

Chances are your new PANEL is just better than your old one and its nothing to do with the RGB settings.

you paid £1000 for that pc in your sig?

Its been a cumulative £1000.

The spec in my sig was £500ish about 18 months ago, but since then ive upgraded the RAM, the monitor, the case, the Graphics card and some other junk, so probubly totals £1000 now. When you add in all the other junk required for a PC, such as peripherals, hard drives or 4, etc etc, it starts to add up.

No PC will ever beat a consoles 'out of the box' playability.

A friend of mine recently purchased a PS3, it's hooked up to a 50" LG Plasma TV with HDMI along with his 360.

We decided to compare a game that was available on both consoles so we downloaded the demo of Grid, both consoles were set up so the car was in the same place and we looked away whilst the HDMI input was changed so there was no chance of cheating.

The difference was startling, is there a valid reason why the PS3 version looked so colourless and the textures were not as sharp as the 360 version? I guess some people may argue they prefer the dumbed down colour palette of the PS3 version but we both preferred the vibrancy of the 360 version.

Most people won't notice this because they either own one or the other console and are unlikely to bother comparing the same game on each console.

Is the TV Calibrated for the 360 or the PS3?

Well a fair comparrison would be to have the consoles calibrated to the tv each in turn, otherwise its pointless.

Colours more vibrant on the 360? Turn the colour up when you plug the PS3 in and you will get the same vibrant colours no?
