Is this a serious post?

They're completely different markets, one is a sim racer that excels with a steering wheel and the other is an arcade racer best played with a pad.

Their only likeness is the fact they're both racing games.

Well, to be honest I take back what I said after seeing some gorgeous screenshots in the link Majnu put up. I do like arcade and sim racers and Assetto Corsa is awesome, Grid 2 was a bummer for me but I forgot how much I enjoyed the first grid game :D

Grid 2 was disappointing, if they have improved the driving style etc in this then I might be tempted when it's on sale, definitely won't be pre-ordering it.

damn :(

been checking bits and bobs they were doing hoping it was dirt 4 love rally games.

Could do with a new rally game also.

Anyone worried about how...different Grid 2 was, I recommend you read the Codies introductory blog post. The main headlines:

- In car view is back
- More track layouts than Grid 1 + 2 put together
- A handling model back to the original style and 'believe the handling is actually one or two steps further towards simulation than Race Driver: GRID, to give you an idea.'
- PS3, 360, PC. Remember this has been in dev since Grid 2 came out, I doubt their next gen engine is ready, hopefully for F1 it will be!
- As mentioned out in just over 2 months :)
- That blog post really felt like they were putting their hands up saying 'yep, we made mistakes with 2, hopefully this is the game you wanted' and it does sound like it is. Wonder if they'll be some sort of discount for those on Steam with Grid 2. One can dream ;)

Now this does sound promising, dam if I know how I'll mange AC, PCARS and now this but I just have to have em. :D

Video shows Abu Dhabi again, but the batch of screenshots show the final corner of Sepang too. Wonder if there will be a few other F1 circuits in Grid 2 :p

More circuits and less hill climb/road courses and I'm all for it! Oh and a bit more of the gritty club racing :D

Grid 1 had a great mix, there was something very wrong in racing up a hill side in a big American lump!

Not that I bought Grid 2, but online reviews and videos were enough to convince me it was not a patch on the predecessor but it seems this game is now going back to it's roots and improves on it too!

- GRID Autosport we had the opportunity to make a much more focussed motorsport game, a desire that many of you have expressed directly to us, and a game that in spirit goes back to some of our earlier titles in terms of content and handling.

- For GRID Autosport we’ve gone back to a more authentic handling style. It’s definitely not a full simulation – we want it to be authentic, not clinical – but it’s more towards that end of the spectrum than before. If anything, we believe the handling is actually one or two steps further towards simulation than Race Driver: GRID, to give you an idea.

- Each car has been tuned and adjusted to really give a sense of its personality so they will act and behave differently from one another, as they would in real life.

- Disciplines are various types of motorsport, of which there are five within GRID Autosport, each with its own unique style and feeling. There’s a vast difference in the way a Touring Car race unfolds compared to that of an Endurance race. Each discipline requires a different approach, strategy and comes complete with its own style of racing.

Looks like they're heading in the right direction but I'm going to remain sceptical because of the mistakes in Grid 2. However, if a cheap Steam key happens to pass me by, I won't miss the opportunity. :p

i have brought every codemasters racing game since they started last few have slipped hard. grid 2 was okay... but some of the stuff made you rage :p

from the looks of this they kept some of the tracks models tweaked others added in to make grid 2+.

as with any devs they'll tell you exactly what you want to hear before buying it.

may get it but not really excited about it. looks just like dlc for grid 2.

That as a rather fancy trailer for a racing game, defiently something different from the usually shaky cam.

Sounds interesting with the focus towards the community and what the expected from Grid 2 which I thought was fun in its own right. I'm liking the sound of the different race classes and the few new features being added. It defiantly seems like Grid 2+ if you look at the time lines and such but with the new handling model and new car classes I bet the gameplay will be like a new game. I'm sure there will be some places offering substantial discount at launch like most games theses days which will make it worth a punt!

No in car view killed it for me, Grid 1 was amazing, I put in LOTS of hours into that on the 360, was very good online actually!

The second, what a dive.

From the leaked info about GRID Autosport, its moving back towards GRID1.

If thats the case then they've got my cash, lets hope (doubt it) they make a drift mode that is exactly like GRID 1
