GRID crashing

If you have anything at all overclocked it might be worth just trying them at defaults no matter how stable you think it might be overclocked.

I have HD4890s no problems here, i do get them going into panic mode sometimes through no idea why and yes I do have GRID, I have not treid it with 64bit vista yet

In CCC are you forcing a particular type of AA e.g. EDGE or BOX.?

My GRID would always crash when i was forcing EDGE DETECT AA so i turned it off and let the application decide the AA and now all is well :)

I can tell you right now what is wrong with your card.
its faulty.

basicly, your VRM`s on your card arent stable when the card is pushed.

try this run a program called FURMARK without AA and at your native res.
if the screen goes black after 5 minutes, thats your issue.

RMA the card.

the black screen is the card going into safemode/downclocking/ ectect.

I had this problem recently too. I am on a single 3870....I thought it was the GPU crashing but it turns out that it's not....

Furmark runs fine BTW and I too am on Win7 7100

on a sidenote the 3870 handles Grid on 2048x1152 amazingly well

I have the same problem with grid using an nvidia gtx 280, i can play it for a few minutes and it crashes, sometimes upon exiting the game the system totally freezes, where i have to do a hard reset. I get this wether the system is at stock or overclocked, ive tried different drivers, patched the game etc, all to no avail.

Again i will ask... "Are you forcing AA in the drivers.? I.e. in Catalyst control centre.?"

If so set to application and re test.

Remember reading that setting Audio to:

"16 Bit 48000 Hz DVD Quality" solves some game issues. It did for me, but on a different game - can't remember which now!

not got grid on ATM, but had a "Similar" issue, in whichthe screen would turn Yellow, and I could still hear the cars etc. On further research, I found it didn't like running on 4 Cores (QX9650), So set the game to run on 1 Core (Affinity), and it never did it again - also, I had a similar problem with DirT (blame codemasters i say;)). Now, however (3 months later) it works on all 4 cores, and i think it had something to do with a bad BIOS update. (using GTX8800's in SLI BTW WinXp/Vista 64
