Hi all. Been playing grid on my system

Q6600 @ 2.4ghz
2GB DDR3 1600MHZ memory
OCZ SSD
GTX 280 600mhz core and 1100mhz memory

Surley this system should play it at 1680 x 1080 with all setting maxed out? Miy system is jumping in game.

Do I need to clock My q6600 up abit? My GTX280 is hiting 77C load that too hot?

Any advice would be great

Thanks

Sheldon

you should defineatly overclock!! 3ghz at least shud make a massive difference...your system should play this game at maximum settings no bother!
and can anyone help me? everytime i complete this race the game crashes! just at the end of the race showing the scoreboards, i click next then it crashes to the desctop saying the game has encountered an error and has closed or something :( tryed reinstallin the game and everything!!

lupo just overclock your CPU to 3ghz,

tmaxx dont use a no-cd crack, use a cd-image or the disk if you have one

have you tryed doing a defrag? sometimes that can help. and Try running rivatuner and play the game for a few minutes then check out the graphics card charts to see what its doing.

Don't know why so many people are advising an overclock / more ram, your system should easily run Grid on max settings / AA / 1680x1050, I ran it perfectly fine on a X2 4000, 3850, 2GB system.

I'd look at the drivers/try compatibility modes.

Yeah your GTX280 should slice through GRID like a hot knife through butter. No need to overclock. Like Skyfall said, look at drivers/game reinstalls etc, it's nothing to do with your hardware, it's definitely up to the job.

Aye, grid ran maxed for me with an E6420 @ stock and my current card at 1280x1024, now it still runs like a dream maxed, 1920x1080 and 8xCSAA- 50 fps on average on the same gpu but with a quad at 3.2ghz...

It could be ram shortage though, 2GB is very little for Vista in my experience, I use more than that in idle state ( and I don't mean superfetch). You say it uses just 1.44gb though hmmm...
Definitely try a reinstall & repatch, check if your av is playing up or some other app nicking 25% cpu during play or worse. And check over drivers.
