Grid: Patch 1.2

Ever turned the collisions off ?
No cd patch users are pirates... riiigghhht...

sigh. Like all Muslims are terrorists eh? I use no cd because a) blooming starforce b) put away the dvd once I install c) usually need the optical drive whilst playing the game.

People like you allow game studios forcing damn requirement for the disc in the drive.

Then I must be a pirate. Steam has gotten me very used to not needing a CD, so all or most of my games that arent Steam based have NoCD exes to save me having to faff around trying to find the disk.

Either that, or as in the case of TrackMania, I use a NoCD exe to avoid using cruddy CD drive damaging piracy software.

Grid is an exception, in that most pirated nocd exe games dont work online. I do find it annoying that Grid allows online play on cracked version. Not because of the ramming online, but because I paid £25 for it!

You put in word what I am feeling better than I did.

In this case, yes. As no other protection is given. I was not aware of any bug as mine reads the disk perfectly.

There is a bug as I installed the game using the CD and it worked once or twice from the CD but then it wouldn't startup so it forced me to get the no cd crack. No startup problems with the crack, Happy Days!:p:D

Fix for sessions list overflow and missing characters in front end.
Fix for errors generated on game shutdown
Support for TrackIR
Online experience points: more points awarded for completing longer races
Assists on/off toggle added to session creation and browsing
All offline events (apart from head-to-heads and touge) are now available
online (event voting screen now scrolls to see additional championships).
Fix for failure to recognise some devices in user-created action map presets, including Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2.
Fixed GRID startup issue where it appears as a process in Task Manager but fails to run.
Additional experience points are awarded for not colliding with other cars whilst racing damage on or forward sessions.

It exists, they apparently fixed it with this patch.

No, it was not quoted. I am just annoyed that pirates can play this on-line or at all. It ruins it for everyone else as they do not care if they ram you off the track by using you as brakes.

I don't think thats true really... people who pirate have some degree of intelligence, rammers are most likely little children, who on the whole probably dont know how to pirate (yes I know expcetions).

Who knows if thats true either but its more logical I think :p

What intelligence do they need to download a file illegally? Hardly makes them master hackers...

I have never done this no CD crack stuff but its increasingly more on my mind as i can understand if the game has no Key & the need for the CD is the protection but when you have a key that gets checked when playing on line then i don't see the need to have the CD in the drive unless it really does need to load stuff from it.
The EA BF games are a joke for that as they don't really have a worth while single player mode.

I view it kinda like football; side to side ramming is fine but if you come through the back then you should get sent off. It's hard to tell who is a rammer and who isn't so imo the safest bet is to get your retaliation in first. It's really quite a fine art, especially when there is some sort of blockade coming up by the side of the track and you time it just right to make your opponent nose-dive right into it. If If I happen to pick off a few fair racers as collaterall well that's an acceptable trade-off.
