GRID - Struggling to play- Spec?

Its not the spec... E6600 w/ 2gig of RAM and an 8800GT just tried it at that res and 4x FSAA and its perfectly smooth. Never mind the Q6600 w/ 260 SLI it just flies on that even at mugh higher res.

Plays everything thing else fine just this. Used to be water cooled too so heat wasnt a issue. Still isnt, gpu never goes about 72C on any game and cpu on prime95 is only 43C
Same here - played fine on my system with only one GTX260 @ 42/50/58 (min/avg/max) and with two in SLi i get 66/81/107.

I've also tried a GTX285 and got 57/69/80

All gameplay was smooth as butter throughout.

gt

runs smooth on my spec as well, and did when i had my gtx280! there must be something else wrong with your pc mate, if your overclocking try upping vcore and make sure ur ram is running at the correct voltage.

I have 4gb of DDR2 running at 950Mhz, Core 2 Duo clocked at 3.8Ghz and a single 260GTX and i play it smooth as butter maxxed out with 8xAA.

Ive never patched it either, its just the version that comes off the disk :)

Its still stuttering sadley. GRRR

Whats this all about using a single core? Mine still stressing all 4 cores in the game, how do I turn the other 3 off, should I? (I cant register on codmasters for some reason)

What is all this about other cores? GRID is a multi threaded game and performs better with more cores, leave this alone tbh

Go for a complete fresh install of grid see if the problem still persists

I know this is far fetched as your other games you say play fine, but re-install the graphics drivers just in case

It's smooth as silk for me @ 1920x1200 with 16XQSCAA on a Q6600/4GB/8800GTX system, sticks around 35-40FPS

You should probably lower your AA settings then. I know it's all subjective, but 35-40fps (imo) has never been as "smooth as silk". My system is basically the same as the above, but I'd take a solid 60fps with less AA over 40fps any day, especially in a racing game.

CHeers guys, did a frsh install a week ago will do another now. and do drivers too. Audio is onboard Aus Blitz board (well the add in creative card). Il only run on 2AA, tho I dont think this is a problem.

After having just formatted and going to Vista x64 GRiD run's at a solid 60 FPS on my system now.

Q6600 @ 3Ghz
4GB RAM
8800 Ultra @ stock.

I'd try fix it more but I really don't know if the gameplay is worth the bother, I only want to play it for online.

When people talk about stuttering, is it the same as me, where the stutters are very long and it appears as if you've just entered slow-mo mode?
