GRID, what type of driving game is it?

Oh fair point.

Burnout is far more fun though. The physics in GRID just suck, same with Dirt.

Ok I take back saying its the most unrealistic. The problem for me is its not arcady enough to be OTT fun, but its not at all realistic. In the end it becomes a soggy uninteresting combination of the two.

yeah, i was looking forward to it but after playing the demo i was disappointed. Grid just simply sucks in my opinion

I thought it sucked to start with but I'm slowly warming to it... but I admit it does take time to start to enjoy it.

I'm using a 360 controller not a wheel. Not sure if that makes any difference. Maybe it'd be more fun with a wheel.

Its very fun :) Got a Saitek R440 and it takes a bit of work but I've noticed that online I regularly overtake drivers out of corners as they have on/off steering while I can smoothly brake, turn in, turn out and accelerate :D

some of you are missing the point, i'm not after a super realistic game

after need for speed meets destruction derby :)

if it worth getting a wheel for? (currently have 360 controller)

wtf, can't buy it on steam, says my region doesn't have it

how cack

-edit, steam update, steam restart, downloading @ over 600kb/s
-edit2, damn just ordered Trials 2 also

hmm especially since 1290 doesn't exist :o :)

it's obvious that was a typo. i just ignored that. asking if a game will play ok on a quad core/8gb/8800gt at such a low res is just willy waving and you know it.... ;)

No, it was a fair comment. GRID is, afterall, based on the DiRT engine, that required a supercomputer to get decent frames from!

but everybody has said grid runs great on much more modest hardware than dirt ever did.

you want flatout2. looks great and runs like poo of a shovel. it's very well optimised on the pc - or wait a few weeks and flatout ultimate carnage is out.

i've got flatout 1 & 2, bought them ages ago on steam, forgot i had them tbh, will play them after i've done GRID

how do you use the flashbacks?

ahh f12 :)

better not to use them i guess, more money

basically the crash system is pretty punishing at times, flashback lets you do a roughly 5 second reply, and 'flash back' to a point in the replay you're happy with

it's a good mix of destruction derby & need for speed so far (played it for about 3 hours)

i must say i enjoyed the game, damage physics are nice,ok its arcade style but that doesnt put me off enjoying it for what it is.

like mentioned its got a dirt like menu and toca 3 style play.

nice game runs rather nice on my 2900xt so cant grumble :)

for realisim i play gtr2
