groundbreaking therapy

the results are also compared to those who, are taking a placebo are they not, they aren't compared to people taking conventional drugs and therapy for heart disease. Considering the large numbers of people who have heart attacks, recover and get stronger with their heart muscle repairing. The news story is writen as if this isn't doable normally and stem cells are a massive breakthrough here. thats not anywhere near the reality, and unfortunately almost all stem cell research seems to be advertised in the same way. Theres certainly potential, but theres at the moment what seems to be far to many doctors pumping far to many stem cells into far too many people randomly looking for something to happen and taking any positive as a flat out cure.

most of what I've seen to date is alternative treatments that haven't been proven to work better than already available treatments. Theres also been loads of complete failures for in treatments in people that "supposedly" worked on other people, and lots of people that have had treatments and seen no improvements whatsoever. We're just soo soo far away from answers or any real long term studies in large enough numbers to know anything.

Doesn't even look like it's been compared to placebo controlled patients, they're just given him this treatment and it's worked, with no comparison to control or other typical therapies.

Chances are that many more single patient results will be published if stem cells have worked for them, in a push to get more funding by showing there is therapeutic potential regarding disease states etc, rather than the traditional "stem cell organ growth" we're so used to seeing.

Clever way to get stem cells in the light again with the possibility of increased funding, however it's very early on and right now these studies are far from leading to common use.
