woohoo, what sort of post did they go out by?

First class, cost £2 each item. However, even though I charged £5 delivery each, I'm some £40 odd quid down due to the exchange rate having changed after a price had been negotiated and agreed. O well, I don't mind as it just means essentially I didn't get my kit free and had to pay for it by means of not charging you guys any more.

I don't actually know if anyone has received them yet ? Not fussed really, got all the receipts, had to do 10 at a time :o So if anyone doesn't receive anything by this time next week then I'll be going back asking some questions :)

I know its not for me to say but IMO you should have done them second class recorded may of being cheaper than first class, if it wasn’t it wouldn’t of being much more, this then give you some backup if anybody claims they haven’t received them and gives you some compensation if any do go missing, normal first class is fine but you are sending loads and I would have covered my self.

So you have sent them first class and used the recorded method?

Edit/ My idea fails as it only covers a certain weight so chances are you couldn’t of used second class recorded :D

Not sure, when I asked if they get lost what happens, he said that each one is covered for £36 with this postage, if one gets lost, come back with the receipt and I'll be covered.

Well I believe non recorded isn’t covered at all, the £36 compensation is the recorded service so if he stated this you sent them recorded. You should be okay then :D

By my simple math,

You charged 70 people ~ £5 for delivery - Totalling £350
You have spent £2 on delivery, totalling £140

Net gain - £210... That covers the cost of your kit AND the £40 you lost just to exchange rate changes. WTH is happening with the other £1xx??

Time and effort to post them, petrol to get to the PO and any packaging used? Id does add up maybe not to £170 extra, the £2 is for the delivery cost only you need to factor other costs.

thats base compensation, all post is covered for 10x the value of a stamp. Claiming without proof its lost is a pain, recorded is an extra 80p so its a no brianer really.

Yeah that’s what I was saying, the way he said he sent them first class I presumed he didn’t mean recorded, and the £36 compensation the bloke mentioned at the PO implies he used the recorded service, although I could be wrong.

The rate (as of 13th May 2008) was 1.94 $ to the £, and it's currently 1.88 $ to the £.

This to me would be less than £1.50 increase in price PER PERSON overall.
