As soon as I see foreign lorries, I tend to go over an extra lane if possible and safe to do so. Doesn't seem to matter if you try to ensure you can see their mirrors as you approach and start to overtake 
Bit excessive but I'd rather not take the risk.
People who suddenly pull out on you without looking, when stuck behind a lorry are just as bad. Had this happen on the A2 the other night, had to quickly check my mirror, indicate then totally floor it while pulling over to the far right hand lane as there's no way I could have stopped in time. Poor guy behind me in the right hand lane must have been a bit shocked as it was pretty close.
