Here's a fun question maybe someone can help me with!
Over the years I've got very used to a certain make and shape of mouse, it being the Logitech Pilot mouse. Maybe it's something to do with the simple design or the fact that I'm left handed but the shape of the mouse has become second nature to me.
Anyway after my latest pc upgrade I was looking for an alternative to my old ball mouse. So imagine my delight when I found out that Logitech still make the same design only this time in lovely 'opticalness'
Here it is,

So off I go to find it... and can I? Can I ****.
Basically everywhere I search stock what appears to be a different version of the mouse, one with an ugly shiny band running horizontally along it.

Now being a picky git and after seeing the clean simple one on Logitechs site, that's the one I want!
I've even gone to the lengths of contacting Logitech themselves to ask if I order it off them will I get the one on their site.. Unfortunately (and this seems to happen sooooo many times nowadays!) the support operator doesn't appear to understand English very well and I simply don't trust what they're telling me. "Oh yes the one on the website is the one you get!" But then when I go to order it a photo of the older one comes up...!
So anyway, has anyone here seen the one on Logitechs site physically for sale? Or, as I'm beginning to suspect, does it only appear as a mirage on Logitechs site and the other version is the only one that exists?
Any help appreciated.

A partner which I've visited.. and checked out one of their shops.. and found it's the old version.. urgh.
