went to my local retailer yesterday, a very large and well known one based in coventry to buy a nexxos XP water cooling block and save on the delivery. the website said they had them in stock so i was expecting to get it there and then, but ohhhh nooooo, they didnt have the item in stock!

so its had to be orderd in (the guy told me it would be two or three days before it arrived), i asked them if they could post it to me as i live locally, it only weighs about 150 grams, would have cost about 80 p to post it to me, but nope, £3 for delivery! nice. then im informed that the store price is £1 higher than the net price  so i orderd it and it came to £28 in total.

i phoned them up today to check they had orderd more stock as there a bunch of idiots that could easily forget to order it and im told that they wont be able to order it for 1 or 2 weeks as they are waiting for orders of the item to build up!!!

which basically means it could be nearly 3 weeks before i get the part that i was told i would have in 3 days. what annoys me more is that they had a nexxos block in a display PC which i said i would gladly take and pay full price for as i want this all set up by the weekend but they wouldnt have it.

im going back for a refund tomorrow. bunch of bloody idiots.

Thats why u always order from online shops like OcUK. When they say they have them in stock they do.

Also of course the shop price will be more, remember online shopping is always cheaper :D

That's not true I ordered a Socket A shuttle type case from OcUK and on their website it said it was in stock but had to wait 2 or 3 weeks before OcUK told me it wasnt in stock.

It never even said "In stock 2-3 days" either.

i use the internet whenever i cant get something from my local shops, i have 2 realy good cheap computer stores locally that are as cheap as OcUK and many other online retailers, so i get it cheaper and dont have to pay delivery!!! if one shop doesnt have it i look in the other, stock as you say is the only issue that i find with small local suppliers =)

i would have orderd from OCUK but for the fact that the local supplier was a tiny bit cheaper than OCUK and OCUK`s £8 delivery charge for an item thats less than 300 grams in weight is extreamly high :( the little bit extra in price on OCUK plus the delivery meant the item would have cost £10 more than picking it up from the local supplier who was supposed to have stock!

if it was a larger item that warrented the postage fee then OCUK would have been my first port of call :)

as for the shop price being more... why should it be ? if your in the shop you buy the item as it is, if its off the net, someone has to get the item, package it, send it to the courier, then there is the website fee`s credit/debit transaction fee`s.

alass this isnt a small local supplier, they are one of the largest and best priced PC parts suppliers in england (apart from graphics cards where they always seem to be 2 months behind...), i dont know how well they have done the last couple of years but when my friend worked for them in 2002 they turned over 25 million pounds.

do they start with an e and a word to discribe moon undersun, if so they wasted my time waiting 4 weeks for the monitor (oc didnt have them in stock)i paid them then found out they didnt have them in stock took another 2 weeks to get the money back and got it on oc.
