Ok here goes. Mobo replaced (Asus A8n sli deluxe to the Premium) full reinstall and new x1900xt fitted.
One change that I am confused by is that prior to the above change and reinstall is in device manager under IDE/ATA Atapi controllers Im sure in the listings it showed SATA (which was my 150Gb Raptor) now all I see is IDE controllers. Also the option to disable NCQ is not there. Have I not installed something correctly or is that all correct?

You need to install the nV IDE SW drivers to see the SATA controllers and turn the drives from IDE mode to SATA mode :) (from the latest nForce platform drivers).

Thanks again Smids but just to clarify. I NEED the IDE SW drivers because some have said when installing Nvidia drivers fron Nvidia site don't install the IDE SW drivers as they conflict. You say INSTALL them yes? Also when you say turn the drives from IDE to SATA mode where is that? Bios?

Right - you NEED to INSTALL them for switching the drives to SATA mode. The problem with IDE SW drivers occured about 1.5 years ago and people don't let go - it wasn't even nF4 that suffered but nF3. I run them (and I ran them even when I didn't have a RAID) and have never experienced a problem. The 6.70 package is very stable.

The drivers automatically switch the drive to SATA, so you don't need to do anything but install the drivers.
