Rapidly going off Linux SMP, apart from the A2 Core problem it pulled a classic this weekend:

I booted it up before going away for a weekend with the other half, upon my return I discover not a single unit folded, it had decided the unit it was folding was out of date and just stopped, not downloading any new work.

I had to delete the work directory etc to get it going again.

If your running an A2 core unit and you stop the client and shutdown the machine (ctrl+c etc), then the clients will sometimes no resume from their checkpoints and cause errors. This only happens with a recent core revision (2.04) - if you still have the old core, you should be fine. I made a thread about it here somewhere and theres a thread on the official forums.

There is a fix (read bodge) WoZZeR if you are running VMware clients, but im not sure you are? Check the official thread i linked to before for some VMware tips, but if your a native cruncher, its a case of holding out for the update...

Sadly, mine is running in native Linux, however, all is not lost, our dreams have finally come true....:)

They have released a new bug free A2 core today according to the FaH forums.

Shall try it tomorrow when WU is finished. :)
