Bke felt funny this morning so I checked the tyres and the rear was flat. A quick investigation revealed a piece of flint jammed in to the rear tyre. I pulled it out and "sssssssssssssssssssssss" big gash in the tyre.

That'll be £204 for a new one then.

Too big a hole to repair?

I would only ever repair small holes such as made with a nail or something. This is a massive gash.

My friend had a good observation though. He said: "It wouldn't be the first time a massive gash has cost me over £200"

200 for a rear?!? What are you running? Have tyre prices doubled in the last year?

Know the feeling though, had to limp the bike a few miles to the garage myself - very slidey with no pressure

(That tyre was a few weeks old too!! :( )

Just got a phone call they said that back break pads need changing. The front and back tyres need changing cause there damaged from being underinflated. I got to wait a couple days now, im pretty scared at what its gonna cost now:(

I don't have a bike, but if I did, I'd check the tyres daily!

Rear pads arent dear and its a 5minute job. Tyres must have been very low to be damaged from underinflation?

Wouldn't let anyone other than me do anything to my bike, I'm lucky in that I have a great bike shop near me, proper hub of the community, they hate working on bikes there anyway :D just crack on with their tools and jobs a good un.

Ive only had the front tyre for about two months. I couldnt possibly ride it that underinflated not to notice. Im hoping im being dumb and didnt quite hear him, cause the tyres looked fine to me.

Came back from the bike shop, i was wrong my tyres were not underinflated too much to cause damage. It simply was low tread:rolleyes::p anyway it cost £498 which is cheaper that what i thought i would be paying for the full service and tyres.
What a difference it makes, i only rode home so about 2 miles but they steering was awesome:D
