Grrrr (random car vandalism within)

Join the CCTV club :)

I have an AVtech DVR with the cameras displayed on all TVs in my house and an app on my iPhone and iPad do I can see them and anything they have recorded where ever I am :)

My ST has been keyed 2 times so far. Not bad ones, but still will need repainting to actually fully remove them. Some people are just born ***** and continue to live their lives that way, just find solace in the fact that hopefully one day they'll do something to someone else and not come off so lightly.

I had my first car, a brand new Fiesta Zetec back in 2003 keyed from light to light 2 weeks after picking it up from the dealer. I went round to a mates house to drop off some DVD's, was in there for 2-3 minutes max, only to come out and find that. It's gut-wrenching when something like that happens to something you've worked so bloody hard to pay for. I can only ascribe it to petty, spiteful, jealous people.

However, a mate of mines a copper, and got called out to a report of someone walking over cars early one morning between Christmas and New Year's eve as he walked along a road. Fortunately, the ****** doing it got so far, then put his foot through a windscreen opening up a massive, deep gash in his calf. He left in an ambulance rather than a police car, but will have been getting a visit for criminal damage. Incidents like that make me smile. :D

Where does the law stand vis-a-vis protecting your property off of your land - say for example if I spotted someone vandalising my car when it was parked on the street and left the house via the garage and picked up.... oh I don't know... a torque wrench or 24" breaker bar on the way out and started swinging it... what are the legal implications of this?

Let's hope the people responsible get what they deserve. By that I don't mean a stern talking to by the police.

I had a brand new Fiesta on loan while my car was being repaired. Parked it up for 10 minutes outside a friends house and came back to find the whole drivers side key'd so deep it scratched the panel leaving a mark in the metal. One of those streets where if it's not a residents car it's fair game for all the scumbags to target.
