Just a heads up to anyone waiting for this little gem of a firmware to turn up, it's finally been released!

http://gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=2496

It will wipe your drive, needs the jumper to be in place, and it's probably best to perform the upgrade from an OS installed on IDE as opposed to AHCI but I'm just about to test that out myself.

The last firmware was fine on AHCI so Im not expecting any problems.

WEll shock and horror, they finally released it, lets hope the wait means no problems like the OCZ and Intel releases...

Let us know how it goes....

Not expecting any problems myself, I think those with RAID'd drives are the ones with most issues anyway

What does this update bring?

Trim? Guess I should click the link :p

Change logs

1. The controller now supports Windows 7 TRIM command much better.

2. Parts of SMART function command have been improved to further increase the accuracy.

3. Fixed the occasional failure caused by the SATA 1.5G bug.

4. Modified part of DATA transferring command and increase the stability of data throughput.

Sounds good.

Ok, it appears a lot more snappier than 1571. Looking promising so far :) Highly recommended for single drive users

Isn't this the same as the "1819" us Crucial owners have had so many issues with (like slowwwww............ down) ??

gskill have been testing it and ironing out the bugs apparently, thats why it's taken so long to come out.

sweet, just got win7 and will be switching as soon as I have the time to make the switchover properly, so looks like I'll be flashing the firmware at same time, as it isn't really convenient to wipe my drive at any other time :P

Was a pain to flash for me too. I had to stick it in my HTPC and then flash it that way, only took minutes to flash but took me ages to get the HTPC out from under the telly :)
