GSOD when gaming

Those games, will hammer that card big time and with only 512mb of ram as well. I guess it could be ramping the temps up, have you checked them?
You could also do what you suggest and throttledown the gpu a little whilst upping the voltage, but i wonder whether your that will put burden on your psu, especiqlly if it's not such a good one to supply a clean consistent voltage to your gpu.

Worth a shot though.
 
Does your mobo's pcie slot run at x16 speed?
If not then any new gpu purchase will see its potential limited already.
I run a 2gb 7850 and it handles far cry 3 on 1920x1080, textures on high.
