Gsync has to be the most over hyped piece of equipment of the last century. It simply doesn't work.

I had a 60hz monitor, i had GTA stuttering occasionally when using Vsync, frames dipped now and again from 60 to 55-56.. but it was certainly playable.

Got a Gsync monitor in hope it'd fix the occasional stuttering problem, but its made it worse....... can't even hold 55FPS nevermind 60FPS

What next?

EDIT: I've clicked "Set up G-Sync" in Nvidia Control Panel and its set to enabled, however as far as i've read on google i should be seeing a "Gsync" option under Vsync in game settings on the Nvidia Control Panel, i don't see that. Anyone know why?

Is this a cry for help or are you just venting?

A bit of both, haha.

Helpful..

So Gsync is the fault because your PC can't hold 60fps?

It clearly can hold 60fps as it did before, since installing the Gsync monitor it can't hold 60 all of a sudden.. being unable to hold FPS 5-10 either side of 60 is when Gsync is supposed to be at its best, or did i get that wrong too?

GTX 980 fwiw.

I've clicked "Set up G-Sync" in Nvidia Control Panel and its set to enabled, however as far as i've read on google i should be seeing a "Gsync" option under Vsync in game settings on the Nvidia Control Panel, i don't see that. Anyone know why?

Have you limited the frames to under the refresh rate of the monitor? For 60hz try 59fps, for 144hz try 135fps.

Which Gsync monitor btw? And what settings are you running for GTAV?

Limited it in game and in the nvidia settings, i've tried all Medium and all High, with grass on normal, tried without MSAA, 2X MSAA and 4xMSAA on my old 60hz non Gsync monitor i could almost hold 60FPS on high settings + grass normal and no MSAA.

Monitor is AOC G2460PG

I've just reinstalled the driver after a DDU, and now im getting screen tearing, so Gsync is almost definitely not working for me, as i don't see it in NVidia control panel under Vsync, like people are on google.

Something is defo wrong, I have the same monitor with a 980ti and Gsync is amazing.

DP cable? Sure it's plugged into your GPU not your Mobo?

Mine flashed up on my screen "Gysnc capable monitor availible" and did the settings for me.

Its connected to the Display Port, i've also tried switching to a different display port on the GPU with the same results.

It popped up saying Gsync monitor available, i clicked the notification which took me to the "Set up Gsync" option in Nvidia settings, which was already enabled, i then went onto google to see what i should do next, and everywhere said to go into the games setting and on the Vsync drop down, choose Gsync..

This is what i get

Do you see a Gsync option in the drop down?

Tried 4 games, H1Z1, GTA V, Rainbow Six Seige and Black Ops 3 and in all 3 games i now get worse FPS/Stutter/Screen tear than i did before i installed the Gsync monitor, i also tried capping all three at 60hz, 120hz and 144hz, none helped.

This tells me Gsync is defo not working.

No I have no option for Gsync in that section - mine is always set to use the 3D application setting.

I have Monitor setting, set as GSYNC.

Yeah, ive got Monitor Technology set to G-Sync, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything..

Its got me stumped, this time.

Set the monitor refresh rate to 120Hz in Nvidia. It will auto set to run at 144hz in games.

Set the refresh rate to 135fps in game after selecting 144hz as the monitor refresh rate in GTAV.

Then turn on Vsync in GTAV.

Try doing that and see what happens, as that is pretty much what I have with my Ti.

Still getting stuttering. Starting to **** me off the fact that my old £129.99 monitor performed better than a Gsync monitor which cost £355 that people say is the "best" thing they've purchased..

I also set Gsync on in Nvidia, set Vsync as default (off) and turned Vsync on in GTA and put refresh rate to 60hz, i go from 60 to 56FPS in game and i can notice it instantly without even looking at the FPS counter.

Well i've tried absolutely everything, and in every game i get stutter, before i never had a problem at 60fps on most games, only GTA used to stutter when dropping below 60.

Starting to admit defeat and will probably be returning the monitor.

My last port of call is to reinstall windows, and start from scratch, in hope that some how it makes it work......... i doubt it will though.

My framerates on games are

H1Z1 - Between 70-110

GTA V - Between 60-85

Rainbow Six Seige - Between 90-120

But i get stuttering on all 3 when frames drop, even tiny frame drops.

Think i've managed to fix it. Limited frames in RivaTuner set Vsync on in NCP and set Gsync on.

Played around 20mins in GTA with no stutters.

Would never be without G-sync, if you have tearing or stuttering over 40fps your doing it wrong.

In the NV control panel under view I think it is at the top if you enable show g-sync logo when you boot a game it'll show you if your using gsync.

Display > G-Sync Indicator?
