GT HD trailer

Well some will be playing that actual track tomorrow from the Dec 24th Demo
Interested in hearing if the handling is any better and how it runs so hope some of the regulars that own a PS3 start up a thread...

Anyone know the time difference between here and Japan? Will we be able to download it earlier or later than midnight?

*EDIT*

Just found out that Japan is 9 hours ahead of us - I wonder if it means that we can download it from 3pm today? I'm gonna take a quick look and see.

meh - can't connect to the Sony store - I wonder if this is because of the amount of people downloading it already?

It is a very big download and there must be a bigger demand than Sony anticipated as a lot of non-Japanese PS3 owners have created a dummy Asian account to get this. I know I have.

Wasnt it also announced the USA would be getting it too they will be approx 5+ hrs behind.

Japan is a good 9 hrs ahead iirc

Good luck and i look forward to your review/pics too please?

It was the right decision to cancel this, it looks evolutionary rather than WOW PS3 kick ass. Just doesnt blow me away in the looks department, its too clean needs nice filtering with better more reaslistic lighting and tire smoke effects.

Nice stage if anything copying Forza hill climb stages or some attempt at a Colin Mcrae title and is this a "kudos" rip off thats visible

Like to here how it handles and if much different than PS2 GT4?

Did they - Damn, I'm gonna have to download that version tomorrow as the Japanese version is, unusually, all in Japanese and it's difficult to see whats what in the menus etc.

I must admit the game plays and looks great, it handles like the earlier versions, which is what I would expect as this is GT and they pretty much keep the same feel to the cars.

It's a nice track and the lighting is really nice on the surfaces etc, the background looks awesome too when you are playing but it's when you do a replay that you really appreciate the lovely smooth clean 1080 graphics - it does almost feel photo real at times.

If this is what they can do with a beefed up GT4 port then I really look forward to playing GT5 :)

Car models and Mountains do look nice but PS3 is able of so much more.

Beefed up GP4 okay apart from graphically i thought they said this was using the new vehicle control game engine which aparently improved things? Does it feel just the same?

Its like in GT4 they said they had vastly improved the AI which was just rubbish, lets face it GTs main strengh isnt its AI though.

Been playing this for a while, and unlocking a few of the cars, it's good fun, nice track, looks great as well (especially on the replays!), The menus aren't too bad, and the traction control has to be turned off as it takes all the fun away!

I never played GT4 so can't compare it (Last one I played was the original GT I think a long time ago...), definately promising for GT5 when it is finally released.

And no doubt we will get it in GT5 - this is still a very impressive little game though.

I thought I read somewhere that GTHD was going to be GT4 with a facelift for the PS3? Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno!

It's difficult for me to comment on the handling tbh, I never really played GT4 that much and it's been a long time since I played GT3. It does feel similar as I remember it, but then I suppose even if they did improve the handling they woudl still keep the feel of it the same - if anything it's probably I little more difficult to drive than what i remember the earlier versions as being.

One good feature is an online leaderboard so you can see your time compared to the rest of the world... damn, some of them guys are good - I'm gonna have to shave 10 seconds off my time to get into the top ten, but then again it was late, I was tired and I was under the influence of a couple of glasses of wine (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!).

Well heres a snip from the last press release.
"The free download won't feature online play, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi told Famitsu, but it will offer network rankings based on times achieved in different cars. He also revealed that the demo will include...
Polyphony's next-gen driving-simulation engine, which aims to fix areas like drift control and drift angle."

Keep us posted on how the different cars are, notice much handling difference oh yeah enjoy the wine and the gaming...

Ah, well that's why I didn't notice too much difference then, I haven't unlocked the drift time trials yet.

The cars all handle completely different from each other, although I can't say how they handle compared to the real thing as I sold all of my Japanese cars and the Ferrari's are just for show purposes ;)
