The dev of GT5 is saying it could come to the pc.

Kazunori Yamauchi has said in an Austrian interview that Gran Turismo may come to PC as a necessity for a Chinese launch.

“It is very, very improbable that GT will comes out on another console,” he said, speaking to derStandard.at. “But perhaps it comes to the PC. Particularly [so we could spread the game in] the Chinese market.”

Changes to the once untouchable series seem to be coming thick and fast at the moment, what with the inclusion of for-all online play and the promise of damage for Prologue later this year.

exactly why i haven't rated the GT series for along time, the devs have just sat on their bums for years working on car+track models and neglecting to improve the game at the base level.

how can you bill a game as a simulation in this day and age with no car damage ROFL .....GT lovers are dellusional.

Yamauchi didnt set out to make the perfect sim his goal was a full interactive car encyclopedia.

Also this first came out months (years?) ago and PD has never said anything but PS3 only especially given the relationship with sony.

It will have a tough time with all the racing games that we already have.

no it wont

how can anybody compare grid to GT ? even GT1 is better than grid.
grid isnt a bad game...they achieved what they set out to do so its a success in its own way but comparing it to the GT series is a bit silly..

if success can be measured by number of sales(which it normally is) then nothing really comes close.....well im not sure abt forza which is probably the only game that really compares.

Well basically I think,

GRID > GT5:Prologue at the moment, though they have hinted at damage in the final release so if its implemented,

GT5 > GRID.

Also that comparison video is utter bs. When comparing speed he takes one of the slowest cars in GT5 and compares it to Le-Mans cars.. ok

Cool, I've only ever played a GT game once (10 years ago...) so looking forward to checking this out once it comes to PC.

Gran Turismo games have always filled that niche of being somewhere between arcade racer and racing sim, and i like it, arcade racers just feel silly to me and i'm too impatient for sims. PD are getting a little closer to the sim side this time around as they will FINALLY be introducing both performance affecting AND physical damage to the cars, this is a first for the GT franchise and is sorely needed.

If you have played GT5 prologue and thought the online and lack of damage were rubbish (like me), keep in mind PD have stated several times that what we have in prologue is NOT what the final game will have, also they plan to patch prologue up to spec (at no extra cost) so sometime before the full game comes out prologue will have the full damage physics and final online system implemented.

While i can see why many people will not be a fan of the driving physics i feel few can criticize the bang for your buck you get with GT games. The insane numbers or cars and tracks combined with the maticulous attention to detail (this time around every single car has the interiors modelled to frightening precision, i drove the audi TT and the interior was completely identical to that of my dads audi) reallly does make for the most complete collection in any racer.

The only problem now is, do i want the PS3 version or the PC version... to make matters worse my current wheel is the driving force pro which is compatible with both.

GRID is better than GT5:Prologue.

Fixed.

GT5:Prologue is not a finished representation of GT5, the online isn't finished and the damage model is completely missing. Wait a few months and see how the patches improve prologue before we can pass any judgment on the final game.
