** GT5 Fiat Panda Challenge **

Agreed - anything else worth covering? :p

I like my idea of a spilt competiton, pads and wheels, but cant think of an easy way to prize it unless you just choose 2 cars of the same monetary value. Id like to do an event but need some inspiration from my UCD. Annoyingly iconic cars are way overpriced...

How about people post whether they're on pad or wheel, and we have a prize for each. I've got a spare car the same as the prize car in the new competition, don't mind giving that away. Worth it?

Well why dont I 'reimburse' you since you already put up the first one and between myself and bigjimmyauk we have the 2nd compo sorted?

Cheers, but I don't mind this week. May prove to be an issue having two identical prize cars each week.

Just did a few goes at Like the Wind to recoup my cash:D

Then its just luck/fate we have the chance this time - I just noticed the thread and I dont have that car. I guess matching it with another 400k rally car would have been more than acceptable. Awesome choice of compo car though - GT5 really underplayed events with crap old cars...

Hmm this could be a nice regular thing (thinking twice a month :p)

A break between events - gives some time to organise next etc. Also means its probably far more probable to pique interest than block to block stuff.

A week seems plenty of time - though avoid giving me the car just before Saturday, Im never around til Sunday usually :p...

Right then, that's decided. Fortnightly events, running for one week, with a weeks break, with separate winners for both pad and wheel users.

Nice.

One final thought - do you think its ok for the winner to disclose his setup? Not for verification, but solely so others can try it after the event or understand why their attempt/setup wasnt as good...

Im learning how the suspension settings work, but I doubt what tweaks I ended up with were anything near ideal. Obviously I know its preference and driving style but me seeing bigjimmyauks setup (or more likely the pad winners setup) least would make me wonder what I need to think about changing...

Again I dont think its a requirement, just be nice as ultimately it might make people better at GT5 by sharing such knowledge in a structured event. Ive kept my setup from the Panda challenge just so I can tweak it - I never would have thought a low 1.03 was possible when I had it...

bah, I was just about to sort something out but thought I'd check in here first.. time to go find the other thread..
Ah I see..
So would it ruin things if I ran another one in tandem?
Oh and conflagrations Jimmy, what a stunning lap time.
(No, I assure you, I mean conflagrations :p)

The car was set up with just the ride height lowered front and rear and the camber and toe angles adjusted ,the rest of the car was left standard apart from the gear box.

It wasn't so much the set-up that gave the 1:03 but the manual gear changing shifting at 5900RPM instead of the 7000RPM redline was gaining me around 4 tenths per lap per lap.

crafty way to check this is with premium cars the bumper cam view was showing a 9000RPM redline in one of my cars earlier yet the in car view was showing 7500RPM redline

on standard cars look at the performance section in the settings page and look for the peak power and torque curve the 2 lines will give you the best shifting point.

looking at my replay there is still room for improvement with the panda i reckon i could get a 1:02.5

Suggestion - make it 10days with 4day break?

With how well the new thread is going I was thinking just the same thing. Maybe start on a Thursday, finish midnight Sunday. Make it a bit less of a panic to get the car moved around. I'll suggest in other thread, can't see any complaints tbh.
