GT5 - how you rate it?

Gloves are off again!

I said Forza does not simulate full on cosmetic damage. I never said it was good or bad!

Fact of the matter is some games simulate cos-damage better than others. GT5's cosmetic damage is far from great. Forza damage, although better than what GT5 currently offer it too is far from GREAT!

Ok so where is the damage in GT5 as stated on the box, let's forget about other games and stick to the topic

ok been playing a little now (only lvl 11). love the karting, weather and graphics (some shadows are bit lame). HATE the AI and no cockpit view for all cars (are you serious?), seriously get off your rear and patch the AI yesterday!! what have they been doing for 5+ years?

haven't tried online yet. although i am not hopeful after playing prologue

for now i give it 3.5/5. if properly patched it could easily be 4.5/5

ps
mods could we have a poll please with sugar on top (see my first post on thread )

Why ask questions you already know the answer to?

You know full well that GT5 contains a damage system. What you want to know is why it doesnt look similar to that displayed in Forza games.

I cant answer that question.

I am level 27 and have yet to see any effect from crashing into a wall at 150MPH, so how do I know full well? What I want to know is where is the damage the game claims it has?

Same goes for me. There are videos that show it, people say it can be unlocked, and the game is stated as having it. Not the minor dents (i.e. "melting") you have from the start, but body parts coming off on the premium cars.

When do you get it if it's in the game? Endurance level or something else? I'm running out of new races for it to be of any interest soon.

not that far into game, but i think it's at lvl 40

If that's true, then fail.

Unless the last few races give MASSIVE amounts of XP, you mean you have to essentially grind to unlock a feature that should be fundamental to a "real" racing game from the start

I've crashed and witness damage a number of times.

You say youve yet to witness it.

you play in a store?

yes there is countless of people yet to see damage, check around not only this forum, but you are telling us we are ignorant, ok :)

tbh hasn't GT series always been a grind? anyway i could be wrong it may be before lvl 40. as i said i am not that far in game, but i know it's a feature that needs to be unlocked.

I'm not finding GT5 that way unlike previous games, I haven't had to replay any races yet for extra money or XP and I'm level 23, but beside the point. Grinding is fine for more money and cars, but not for features.

It is unlocked from the start.

So I should be able to smash up a premium car right from the beginning? Why the hell haven't I seen any damage yet then, I've had plenty of crashes, especially in the premium Citroen Rally car :p

No, I'm saying you're being ignorant.

You're denying the fact that damage is present in the game.

No he's not, he's like me and asking how exactly you access it.

I know it's in there, but after playing it every day since launch I've yet to see any! Nothing so far has looked even remotely like that blurry picture you put up.

For me at the moment it's at 3.5/5. Where it is good, it is very good but there are some glaring issues such as the AI that spoil it at times. I'm only at level 19 however and the races have started to become more of a challenge so I can see my score going up, especially with updates.

As for damage, I made a right mess of my 458 :(

We all know for a fact that damage is present in the game.

The question is why it isnt executed in a way one would expect.
