gta benchmark thread anyone?

I have to admit that this release looks to be top notch.

although the shadows i have to have only on high and msaax4 it still looks very pretty and plays like a dream on a 780 @1920x1200 :)

Actually, the benchmark does sort of work. But I believe you need to be outside of a mission (meaning you need to play the game a little first before you can run it) and it'll quit after doing the benchmark.

It showed an fps counter during the benchmark, and saved a file to Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Benchmarks:

Seems to be awesome work from both, red and green team in this one regarding drivers. Very solid performance from both. I wish all games would be this well done when they come out.

Run with my current settings, plenty of grunt, not enough Vram :(

Just ran the bench on my 780 everything maxed except Msaa on 2 and saw 3071 vram usage and 5.4gb of system ram used and also 9gb of page file used just to run the benchmark

Anyone with stuttering issues may need more than 4gb of system ram and a large ( or system managed ) pagefile.

Awesome game, really impressed with the work gone into the PC version. AMD drivers are absolutely fantastic for this release, single card and crossfire :)

Also nice to see it in black and white that 3GB cards are now obsolete for 1080P, max settings.

Nope, 295X on top at the higher resolutions, linking the graphs from the links in your post:

Not bad when you consider the 295X is half the price huh

I think you are missing the point

4 GM200 chips v 4 Hawaii chips is a total mismatch and anyone considering such a system would not be worried about the extra cost of the NVidia cards.

My Conclusion

The AMD 295X2 beats the Nvidia Titan X in GTA V, twice the cost for less performance. :(

Would be nice to know why the 295x2 is seemingly incapable of keeping its stock clocks in this game at 4k, i've bumped the power level to +50 and it only seems to stick to 1018mhz for a few moments before bouncing around all over the place. The benchmark run is farsical with core clocks going to 500mhz in some instances. And yes thats with the new driver.

Err, I think you're missing the point buddy.

Most people in the market for high end GPU's would buy one TitanX or 295X2. A very small amount of people would buy two of each. In both cases, the 295x2 outperforms the TitanX in GTA5, this is fact.

I'd argue that the amount of people who buy 4 TitanX's is less than 0.01% of the userbase - so for the 99% of us, the 295X2 is the clearer winner in GTA5.

@1440

Something isn't right with those results, I'm using 4Gb vram without any MSAA
Over 6Gb system ram and 11Gb pagefile.

Or am I missing something?
