gta iv graphics problem

so ive just reinstalled GTA IV
but i cant for the life of me figure out whats happened
i am totaly unable to change any of my graphic settings

do you have a gamepad connected?

it can cause problems

i do yes, i will disconnect see what happens

GFWL done a huge update when i first ran it
would that be it ?

it took away the social club thing, and now i have option to play other gta games within the game

now it wont even let me log in
i log in then it loads then asks me to log in again,

uninstall !!!!

Try adding the -norestrictions command to the exe. This allows you to edit any setting.

i had same problem recently, just download/install the game update and gfwl manually http://support.rockstargames.com/help/rockstar_games/GTAIV_patch_7

i am using the Sapphire 6950 and I get green stars flashing when it rains . Loads of others are having this issue.
if you get the game working wonder if you will have the same problem

my suggestion was just to get out of the login/install loop

but today i got my 580 gtx and now i cant change options either!

i hadnt reinstalled but now i have and still the same, nooooooooo

fyi: i managed to fix it using -norestictions shortcut trick mentioned before. Still not sure what caused the problem in the first place.

Overrated anyway. Rubbish performance, on my dont believe the hype list, wondering why i bothered to buy it. Never lived up to my expectations on any level. Dont just uninstall it, give it away on ebay
