GTA IV Installation Problem...

Hey all.

I just finished downloading GTA IV from D2D and when installing it's asking for a disc change.

Since being a download, there isn't a disc I can swap.

What can I do?
 
log a problem with the D2D support folk they're actually quite good although from memory you have to create a separate account.

Are you sure the download is extracted properly? Pretty sure mine didn't ask for disks.
 
I've tried re-extracting it but WinRAR says the archive is corrupt even though it appears to extract it fully.

I'm not really keen on the idea of downloading the 15GB file again, is the corruption likely to be the issue?

Tried re-downloading it? This happened to me once and this fixed it.
 
Mine is downloading from D2D at a shocking speed, around 400kbps so is taking ages. Much faster downloading things from rapidshare. I might just do that and use the key they provided me with:rolleyes:
 
Ive had the exact same problem. Sod this for a game of soldiers I cant be arsed faffing around. At least it only cost £4 I now know not to bother with D2D again.

It registers to GFWL does it not? Which updates it for you, fairly sure it did Batman:AA for me.

Shame you can't register it to GFWL beforehand and download it through there, always fully utilises my connection!
 
Is it possible to try and install the game by mounting it on virtual drive? Also anyone tried contacting the D2D support?

Seems kinda dodgy to me.

I have, no reply yet. nope, secure rom knows. Ill await a 1.0.6.0 crack to use with my paid version of the game :rolleyes:

Ding a search for missing dll files like xlive on google isnt a good idea. I downloaded the proper Xlive fom microsoft but get the usual rubbish about needing a dvd still
 
i have had no issues at all with GTA4 - use the D2D download manager to download and extract the file. if running windows 7 use compatibility mode for XP SP3.

although the latest patch is not avaialble from their site which is annoying

edit 2: i take it back - just installed the 1.0.4 patch for D2D and now it wont let me past the social club login even though im authenticated lol

ironically 1.0.0 was working great for me completely unpatched but after reinstalling i can see that windows live updates the game anyway.
