GTA IV performance

acording to some people above its a good port
i think they forget when it was released is it 2 years ago now? it ran like **** on nearly every rig going and the patchs at first seemed to make the game look worse rather than actually optimise the game

I think others forget that it looked like crap and stuttered like a dog on the consoles. The PC version looks and performs far better, as long as you have a quad core processor (like the consoles have).

I got GTA IV in the steam sales the other day and have been playing it for a few hours. I knew the game was poorly optimised for the pc after reading comments.

GTA IV on PC - looks good, some great fun and a lot of good content, but performance is shocking, a real let down, sadly.

Other than GTA 2, this is by far my favourite GTA game.

the game isnt a bad port

the engine is just complete and utter **** as it looks and runs like crap on the consoles as well

playing Mafia 2 which looks far superior and is smooth as silk shows just how bad the GTA 4 engine is

MMmm yeah, I was amazed at how good Mafia II looked when i first played it.
