GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony - October 29th 2009, Xbox Live

Just finished the main mission. It pee's on GTA4's stock rubbish missions from a great height and runs close to Saints Row style missions, which is a good thing.

On the whole Ballad of Gay Tony is the best expansion. Brilliant humour throughout, some nice cameo/crossovers and a lot of good action/shoot-out sequences. One tip: Be sure to watch the credits fully.

/me carries on dancing to a certain take that tune with his shirt off...

tbogt is the best! im loving this so much more than tlad and i loved that to bits!

i love the whole nightclub thing, i literally go have a dance and a few shots everynight before my shift :P

game of the year

LOVE IT!

guys, i never completed GTA IV on my PS3, to be honest I only did the first 5 missions or so, and spent the rest of the time messin' around in the city.

anyway i now have a 360 and have purchased both expansions on disc, do I really need to complete the original GTA IV story first ? or can I still get enjoyment from both expansions without ? Tbh I am short on game play time these days, so would rather avoid having to !

cheers

I completed GTA IV and am just starting Lost and the Damned. So far the story doesnt link in with the original at all and I think its the same with the Ballard of Gay Tony.

So just play and enjoy :)

Glad to see I'm not the only person who likes the dancing bit of the game :p Well the Bus Stop feature anyway!

presumably then if i havent played the original GTA IV all the way through I will still get some enjoyment from these expansions ? I presume story still makes sense to a point, with the original crossovers providing an extra level that I will be ignorant to ?

got it in one :)

cheers, so now the next decision is which one to play first lol, got a feeling if I play BOGT first that TLAD will bore me in comparison, so TLAD first it is then ;)

Man, this game only served to remind me how appalling the graphics are in GTA4. What is with that weird 'blob effect'?

Hmm mine has never looked that bad. Only thing I can pick out about the graphics in IV is the frame rate drops when there is a lot going on. :|

Do you mean the weird watercolour type blotchiness?

I notice that also, only when i go very close to the screen. Wasn't like it on the PS3 version though. The PS3 version was plagues with massive blurriness though!

I'm also enjoying TBOGT immensely! Just a shame i have so many games to finish at the moment!

I downloaded this yesterday, played it a little but because of how loud the xbox is I was havin to have it dead loud, I installed the game to the hard drive to stop the disc spinning (normally works) but when I click play from hard drive, or even just play on the disc actually, the lost and the damned starts? That cant be right and I cant find any option or anything in the menu to say play the new one.

Anyone else have this problem? I deleted the Lost and the damned but then when I clicked it it said no downloadable content works and loaded just the original game, so now I'm having to redownload LOTD. At least I dont have to pay again.

Anyone know?

fs I didn't know you ONLY get that new Vice City radio station with the disc version of the game :( There was me thinking that maybe it the radio station was available in the new vehicles only lol
