You are not Disco_P are you?

As I have said, it is not a game of unknown quality as it has been released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

The ‘rerelease’ on the ‘Next Generation’ consoles was very good; the game ran better, looked better and had new features.

I do not understand how pre ordering this game, considering what is already known and the publisher/developer is a waste of money.

If you do not want to buy the game at full price, that is your prerogative, wait until the price falls in to your budget.

I think Max Payne 3 was more than a ‘decent’ port too, as I have said, I did not run in to problems playing Grand Theft Auto IV on PC when it was released, nor did I have any problems with Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, or Grand Theft Auto Vice City. Even Bully was a good game on PC.

I trust RockStar.

No i'm not Disco_P  and you don't seem to be getting my point.
I never said anything about the quality of the game itself being questionable but at the stage the quality of the port is. Previous Rockstar games have been good ports, others have not. Unless you have slow internet you can buy on release day and be playing same day so no need to preorder.

If more players took this mentality perhaps we would get better ports cos if its bad I won't be buying till its fixed. Too many developers rely on preoders and then release a broken game.,

problem is you say broken game as if it's actually broken, but people get fussy about missing a few FPS which most do not care about. GTA IV for example I had no issues with when it was released

It's because we have the same opinion.

A few missing FPS? That game should run at 60FPS on decent hardware and yet I see drops to 20 for no reason. It looks decent for 2008 but nowhere near what the performance would indicate.

I think most of them learned the hard way when Watchdogs and Destiny got released.

Watchdogs, Destiny, BF4, Assassins creed unity, Halo Master Chief Collection, driveclub, . Even GTA V was appalling when the online component released 2 weeks after launch.

Totalbiscuit made a category regarding launch issues and preorders in his 2014 game awards

I'm not pre ordering.

I still fail to understand how people say "I got burned with BF4" and can then pour hundreds of hours into it.

I doubt any other £40 you've recently spent (if that) gave many of you even close to as many hours of enjoyment.

I am not one of those people. I spent £60 for the game and premium. Probably spent 50 hours actually playing it cause I was part of a BF3 community and moving onto BF4 was the natural order of things. Seeded servers for another 100+ hours (which counts as playtime for some reason) and returned on each DLC release to see if they have fixed the game. they haven't. I had 800 hours in BF3 when BF4 came out and it now sits at 1200 hours so it's not like I don't like battlefield games.

I got black ops 2 for £20 before BF4 came out to pass the time. 250 hours in and still playing it every day. Skyrim is the same.

Because we paid £40 for a game that was broken for the first 6+ months.

Preordered it, preloaded it, couldn't play it for the first 5 days.

Whats not to understand?

There does seem to be this unnerving sense of gratitude to developers from some sections nowadays almost like we should be thankful they make games for us at all, with the indie types I get it but with a BF title they have been doing it for so long they should really account and test for these problems properly.

No one mention DayZ!

No one mention DayZ!

It's in big bold letters of my things I regret buying. Right next to BF4 and Star Citizen.

The former for obvious reasons, the latter cause I just don't know how it will turn out and would now rather find out before I put money down.
