Ive been talking to a pal who works in Game and he and the manager keeps telling me next gen and PC version of GTA V will be online only and NO single player, anybody heard this cos i smell bull****
 
If anything it would be the other way round given the issues GTAO has had.

I am interested in R*s choice to specifically market GTA Online as "GTA Online" and not "GTA 5 Online". As if the plans are for the online aspect to exist in isolation to the SP game? We could see add on packs like Gay Tony that exist only in the online game? Possibly even an expansion of the maps available online only?

That said, it wouldn't be hard for R* to chuck out a cheap GTA Online package that didn't include SP, so maybe your man isn't talking poo? Especially if they fuel it with lots of DLC. Its difficult to write SP stories for a constant drip feed of DLC.
 
Rather it be sp only than them develop a mp aspect as mod groups can add in mp themselves i.e sa-mp etc.

But since the work is done for mp i guess its coming with mp. I mean if it has proper co-op where you and a mate or two can play through the entire campaign together then cool but if its just mp modes like defend this or group attack that or mp bank jobs then nah not for me personally.
 
Theoretical GTA 5 question

For say,

With gaming at a resolution of 1920x1080, What do you think the maximum V-Ram would be needed when gaming on max settings?

I'm thinking around 2.5 - 2.8GB
 
I reckon 2GB will be enough. The only time I've managed to go over 2GB on my card was running Skyrim with too many mods. BF3/4 hasn't gone over 2GB as far as I know.
 
Did max payne 3 have AA support or that deferred lighting thing which well at the time of gta4 at least prevented msaa etc support. Because if gta5 has no aa support like 4 i will be quite miffed because even deferred lighting engines nowadays have some sort of aa support like fxaa or hopefully id love to see nvidias txaa support since i now have a 670 card.
