watched a couple vids of the console release and it looks awesome for messing around in nevermind any actual official gameplay

will not be on retail shelves for pc by the end of Januar
They struggled slightly last release but this gen of consoles arent especially advanced so doesnt that make it more likely to run ok on pc and not lost in translation

As i'm sure a lot of you have noticed, AAA titles on Steam have become ridiculously expensive so for all those waiting for it to come on Steam, like me, I reckon we'll be looking at least £39.99 to £49.99 once they have it on there, even if they do a pre-order.

Obviously that's unacceptable, but I don't have a disk drive so don't really have any other choice. Unless anyone here can help me out? Maybe get a key now and download an ISO later when it is uploaded 'unofficially'.

Preferably I would like it on Steam as that's where most of my games are on but paying that extra premium compared to the price most of you have gotten keys for seems a bit of a rip off TBH. Of course I can wait and see what the price is going to be, like I have been for many months, but I still have confidence it will be a fairly large amount to pay, and by that time the key prices would have increased quite a bit, like they already are as we get closer to the release date.

As I have absolutely NO confidence in Steam giving a good price, what would be the best way for me to go to get a good price when I don't have a disk drive?
Thx

Just buy one of them really cheap disk drives and remove it when you don't need it? That's what I have done. Can't even remember the last time I used it to be honest.

My money is on it being delayed!

Simple buy it from Amazon and take key on box and enter in steam and save $$$$$

If you buy the boxed game you will probably still just be able to input the key on steam and download it through there as normal. I have done this with several games without any issues.

I bought Gta IV awhile back, retail, and I now know you can add that to Steam. The problem was they only accepted keys in the format xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx and mine was xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx so I had to get the game again off Steam (because I need GTA, the wait for V has been very difficult). Was on a cheap sale so well worth it considering now I can actually run it at decent speeds including mods and might actually finish the game this time.

Im just worried that depending on where I get it, I might also receive a key that is invalid for Steam.

Found one for £31.41, so I guess I will go with that. It does state that it's Steam region free / worldwide. Found it on allkeyshop, anyone know if that is a trustworthy place before I spend my money?

I don't think you quite understand things. Nearly all games nowadays are some form of digital distribution platform (steam, origin, uplay etc). Regardless of the copy you buy it will come with a key for activating it on that platform. When you get a disk copy of a PC game, it comes with a key and disks. You use the key to add the game to the account where you can either either download the latest version or install the disk version and download the updates.
When we buy CD keys, they are nearly always for steam (unless the game isn't on steam) which we add to our accounts and then download the game.
I haven't had a dvd drive for years, it has never stopped me once and I doubt it ever will.

Allkeyshop is a key price comparison site. Cheapest key I found was £31.19 at instant-gaming who I have used in the past and had no issues with.

However I still strongly recommend not pre ordering. We still have no idea of the port's quality.

Add that to steam region locking keys from what I read. If they do that and you have a dodgy market key you've wasted a whole lot of money!

A lot of sites are promising region free unlocked codes and russian codes which are a lot less.

Whether the region free ones will continue to work, I don't know.

Just ordered from gamestop.co.uk for £28.50 after cashback (which has tracked). Physical copy as well. Pretty good price.

It's £32.85 from Simply Games, and at least you know their stock has gone through the proper retail channels and not ripped from a box in Russia or something.

Edit: Cheaper still from Gamestop as above.

Some sites are selling keys only. You will have to download a pirated copy of the internet then you can input the key, so be careful.

They are steam keys. Keyword is steam. You put the code in steam and it is tied to your steam account. Then you download it off steam. You then play it through steam.
