No IV was broken for so many people, even long after launch. Google it. Great content, as always, but performance was so poor - even on a quad core - that it was essentially broken. It was unplayable.

I benchmarked it the other day, just for the hell of it. Hence my earlier comment in the thread that seemed to upset someone.

Steam normally don't release until around 10am PST, be surprised if this changes just for GTAV.

Heard a rumor just now that Amazon Digital order won't be issued keys until the 14th. Doesn't bode well for the smaller etailers like GMG/CJS et al.

Modders never fixed anything, my God you people make it sound like the game was unplayable. IV was a great game out of the box.

i wouldnt say out of the box but after patch 3 or 4 the game was perfectly playable but i am getting pretty sick of people spouting the same old crap about GTA IV tho

i bet half of them never played it on the PC but are just posting this and that cause everyone else is

Why don't shops like currys/pcworld etc have a "Steam Zone". Basically a box with preload game files on.

At home I go on steam, pre-purchase the game.
I then get given a code
I take the code to the Steam Zone and plug in a USB stick/HDD
Pre-load files get copied onto it
I then use the steam client at home to copy them into my Steam install

I have a 4Mbps ADSL line, I simply cannot download 65G it would take about 2 days assuming I get full bandwidth and don't want to use my internet connection for anything else at all.

How are the physical copies released ? 7 DVDs ?

Or you could just buy the retail version and be done with it?
