If it's for the Physical disc then it'll come with a code you would need to activate it, Not sure though not bought a PC game on disc for a few years now.

It's actually via a code site, but unless I'm being really thick - I can't actually see where you would activate it?

Mine was £34.99 with 'guaranteed' release day delivery from Amazon. Steam version looks to be more expensive than that. I don't doubt there will be a patch but it wont be a 65gb patch?

The fact its cheaper to buy a physical box that has been printed, produced, packed, shipped around the world, shipped to a hub, delivered to a warehouse, resold, shipped back to a hub, shipped to a depot and then hand delivered to your house highlights how ridiculous the prices of digital distribution games really are.

I just laugh at steam's new game prices and it annoys me that so many people still pay the ridiculous prices they want. I would like to use steam and have the steam version but i will never buy or pre order new game directly from Steam simply because of their outrageous pricing.

But whilst there are people still doing it in droves, it wont change.

Pre-load begins today, although there's no specific time yet. It's probably 6pm as that's when Steam seems to activate European releases.

Pre ordered from greenmangaming for less than £30 thanks to having some credit and a VIP deal of some sort. Can't complain but am wondering about the key being released as the servers will be hammered silly on release day, even with 40 meg fibre.

If it's anything like it was from PS3 -> PS4 then it will just be a case of logging in with the same Rockstar Social account and importing. From what I've read from R* themselves it seems that instead of migrating the character it makes a copy of it, so you won't lose it from the original game. So that's nice
