GTA4 - Console or PC ?

Lets get one thing straight ive always played the gta series on PC's personally they play so much better that way.

But with gta4 it may yet be over a year or so before its ported to PC, and i dont fancy waiting that long, so im considering getting it for a console.

Just wondered what your views would be on what console is best, or if i should slog it out and wait for it to come to PC?

I'd like to know what people think about this also. I think I'll still go for the pc version, as I've always used the pv version for the gta series.
 
I'll get the PC version when it comes out, but my brother has a 360. So I'm getting it for that. :)

I NEED GTA:IV
 
I'll hold out for the PC version, always have done, unless they do a bad port...then i'll just cry.

Mouse and keyboard + 5.1 sound = PC for me
 
I'd certainly get it on a console, it's a control pad game and something that I think benefits a console (especially as they have been made for the consoles and have been in the past). Plus it won't have any driver issues, need patching or CTD's like all the other major PC releases over the last couple of years. (And the last few GTA's have all been notoriously poor on launch for PC's).

Microsoft also paid $50,000,000 for exclusive content for the Xbox360.
 
GTA is always best on console, bought both vice city and san andreas and hate them both on PC, i will buy GTA4 on PC but i will need an X360 controller to be able to at least play it, its pointless without a controller TBF its a game that crys out for it.
 
I'll be getting it for my 360.

I just flogged the only other console game I had, so I'll need play something to stop the thing gathering dust. It should be interesting to play GTA on the platform it was designed for too, as I've only played the series on PC before now.
 
I personally am going to wait for the PC version. Although it will be a complete test of mental willpower :D
 
Personally Im gonna get it for the PC (but I dont own a console and doubt I would get one for just a game - dont quote me on that when the new Gran Turismo comes out :p) as I feel that Rockstar seem to spend those extra 6months to make the PC versions slightly better (each successive GTA port has been better handled) and the PC community really gets behind the games and bring out some unique content which just makes it more value for money and adds longevity the consoles still cant match...

Control wise you cant beat KB + Mouse for the character and a controller for the driving...

PC mainly as its great controls for pc with mouse aim instead of auto lock on consoles. Also the multiplayer mods that get developed although i heard this new gta may have mp support for a change. As well as the usual high res gfx on pc and sharper textures and 4x AA and 16x AF etc.
 
I'll be getting it for the 360, I can live with slightly worse graphics and controls if it meens I can play the game a good 6 months before the pc version.
 
In GTA:SA (and i presume GTA IV) can you use both a controller for driving and a mouse-keyboard combo for walking & shooting?

Without having to reconfigure I mean.
