I have removed Catalyst also and the rest of the PC is FAR over spec ( I had a NVIDIA GTX295 before so know how well it should run)

Does anybody have any ideas?? My daughter is going NUTS!! lol :)

PS - Works with all other games amazingly....

Cheers

I think you could try adding -nomemrestrict to the executable (IIRC), which would remove that limitation and you can then increase the settings.

Maybe run a google search on that.

Re-Install drivers. That should do it.
Probably a bug with the drivers not showing the computer how powerful the card is. What rating do you get in WEI? If thats low its the drivers fault.

Edit: If neither of that works. Trawl the internet and look for the way to manually put it in with Notepad :)

This all day long, either -nomemrestric or -norestrictions.

It happens when an unsupported card/driver or multi-card setup is installed.

Either do the above or if on multi-card disabled crossfire/SLI. Had the same problem with both my 9800GTX SLI and my CF 6950's.

a fresh install would be my best bet too. However (and it may not be the same problem :) ) but a mate had the same problem and discovered that GTA IV had a problem recognising graphics cards over 2gig and worked around it creating some kind of command line - cant remember exactly I'm afriad but I know he did that and solved the problem. Again may not be this problem but worth a look!

Fairly sure its an extension of the memrestrict command that you're talking about, the cards over 2gb thing does ring a few bells. Check steam forums fairly sure there is a complete list of command extensions.

I think you're right there! was a while back. :)

It not something like memrestrict 2048? Its been a while since I've had a game, hopefully gta5 doesn't have the same flaws.
