gta4 killer!!!

Had decided not to bother with this game but as available for 1p less than £10 at a large supermarket chain begining with M. have bought a copy. :D
Going to be running on a Q9550 + 4gb and 4870 with 512mb , so will see how we go.
Only descision is wether to wait until I've installed 64bit vista or run it with existing xp home ?

As others have said, a GTX 295 + i7 will do the job ;)

But personally, I'm using my 8800 GTX + Q6600 and it is doing well at 30-50FPS with Medium textures and Very High render. The game itself is a bit hyped though.

Well considering that the game is optimized for 64bit operating systems, I would go ahead and install vista. I had 32bit xp home edition and once I installed vista ultimate 64bit, it ran better.

Vista 64 bit it is then :D

Should have read the box shouldn't I & not just looked at the pretty pictures :(

I would have referred you to the box but I wasn't sure if you already bought it. ALSO- some people have been experiencing errors that prevent you from starting the game after they installed vista 64x. The funny thing is, i did too the first time I installed vista but I had to do a clean install to upgrade my mobo and cpu and then i did not have any errors.

BTW- I DID fix the errors originally and was playing fine without the 2nd install. If you run into trouble, post on this thread and I can walk you through how to get past the errors. I found people getting frustrated online and just going back to xp when encountering this. That annoys the crap out of me because then they probably hate on vista. I personally would rather get my setup to run everything properly then have to revert back to something out of ignorance. Hell if i did not know much about pc's I'd take it to someone who did to get things running right before I'd go back to xp. :p
