I installed this yesterday and to see how it would work on my new 5770 and after taking ages in install, rockstar rubbish, games for windows and some other crap it runs terrible. I left it on auto settings and it was perfectly smooth but would just stop and start again, dipping to about 1fps for a split second then back again.

It does the same in low graphics settings and high. I'm using Windows 7 64bit, Xonar Essence, Cat 10.3a drivers.

Every other game works fine. Does anyone know what this might be?

Anyway, I deleted it and went back to playing BC2 and Starcraft 2

didnt have W7 sidebar running did you, mine ran like a bag of dirty pants til i removed that, now it sits around 30fps

Can't tell you what the problem is, but it should definitely run fine on that setup. I'm running it on Windows 7 with the same graphics card and a Q8400 and it's smooth as butter with everything on high and draw distance + detail distance around 50/100.

Why bother asking if you already deleted it?

Surely a wise move would be to ask for solutions, try them, then delete it if they fail to solve the problem, no?

Well somethings up with drivers, background tasks or system build.

Clearly not, every other game I have tried, old and new work great. Its just GTA4. Even Metro works fine in very high, DX10

I hate it when games try and install 3rd part programs and sometimes even drivers. Like Dirt 2 installing rapture 3d sound. What the hell, i have Xonar drivers already.

I removed it along with the other crap because it made heaven 2.0 benchmark not work. I then made a clone of my drive so I can de-screw anything when i test again, which i will probably do tonight
