Are ya using a wheel? which one? I got a DFP, not sure how well it would work with this game though.

Been playing this for a few days now and i,m addicted. They have deffinately improved on GTR without ruining anything that made GTR so good. The Graphics are very nice the car deatils are superb the tracks are good but nothing special but this is not what this game is about..

I too had mine from ebay, talking to my local game store today they confirmed they have the game in stock but the release has been delayed until the 29th due to publishing problems and a lot of stores not having there delivery of the game for launch. For them to sell now would be classed as unfair trading...

Just a logitech formula force GP wheel and its works fine. I dont see why you should any bother with a DFP to be honest.

with GTR2, if you dont have a wheel, i reccomend using the mouse steering option, its better than a gamepad or keyboard :)

i will try that :D

tbh if you dont have a decent wheel, dont install gtr or gtl or any driving simulator for that matter. I'm amazed people can even get out the pits when playing the game on a keyboard.
tbh you need time to get used to games like gtr, it takes time to hone in your driving skills and get a decent setup, once you have mastered driving the racers round tricky tracks you can consistently knock out fast lap times, lap after lap!
Not surprised peeps only used to playing nfs and the likes are getting a big shock :D

I,m playing with an xbox 360 controller which works quite well. I cannot imagine trying to play with the keyboard.

does it automatically pick it up as the 360 controller and configure settings accordingly or not?

Can anyone convince me that the driving model is as good / surpasses GTR1 ?

I tried the demo for GTR2 and honestly was immediately dissapointed by the lack of realism. I felt like the car was on rails, it seemed to drive too easily.

Did you have the driving aids on..?

could have sworn that the first thing i did was try to 'hardcore-ify' everything i could, which i remember really astounded me when i started playing.

maybe i'll have to give the demo another shot.

The GTR2 driving model has been completely dumbed down from GTR1. It's far more forgiving which is a shame as it's nowehre near as rewarding to knock in a really good lap.

Most people on RSC have set the grip level in the game through the .ini files to about 90-95% which gives more GTR like handling.

As for the R440 wheel - I wouldn't bother. I used to have one until i bought a Logitech MOMO and compared to that the 440 is just crap. Anything Logitech with force feedback should do you nicely.
