Right, I have gone with TechPowerUps 1080P results, as they test the most games and a very informative way of testing.

Gaming results 1080P

Power Consumption

Performance per watt/Performance per Dollar

Overclocking
GTX 1060

Maximum overclock of our sample is 2380 MHz on the memory (19% overclock) and +229 MHz to the GPU's base clock, which increases maximum Boost from 1911 MHz to 2101 MHz (10% overclock).

RX 480

Maximum overclock of our sample is 2250 MHz on the memory (13% overclock) and 1335 MHz on the GPU (5% overclock).

While memory overclocks really well, reaching the Overdrive adjustment limit, GPU overclock is extremely limited and one of the smallest I've seen in my reviews so far. AMD does offer the option of voltage control, but its effect seems extremely limited, with no noteworthy frequency gains in my testing.

Great work from TechPowerUp and some decent results. I used the 1080P results, as I would use either of these cards for 1080P gaming and that is where both of these cards perform well.

It depends if the source of this info is legit. At least it's not from wccftech...

Should be a big step up from a 3GB 280X. I was looking at the RX 480 Nitro, but if the 1060 is decent, I'm probably going to go with one of these.

If these performance figures are indeed correct, it looks like we have a new price to performance king ($249 for the 1060 Vs $239 for the RX 480) with the 1060. AIB custom cards available at launch for the 1060 also (available today at 2pm apparently).

Very impressive for such a little outlay.

It was pointed out on other forums, that these are Nvidia slides, not real benches...and also if the 1060 numbers are real, then if you compare them to the real RX480 bench numbers then its not faster at all.

If anything I'm expecting the 1060 to be slower on average across the board, given that the best-case scenario nV could come up with was +15%, and that's probably in a title that heavily favours them.

What time is the NDA up?

Nvidia have seen what they have to aim at and know what clocks to run to get there. They will be faster on stock cards. Where it will get interesting is overclocked versions. It's already suggested the 1060 boosts into the mid to high 1800's which will probably leave it with little room left percentage wise. The Amd chip might have a good bit more left in the tank so I expect things to be close when both chips are maxed. Pricing will be key for both.

NDA is up at 2pm I am led to beleve.

The gain over 480 seems a little high from what I was expecting. I saw this on Fudzilla yesterday evening and decided to reserve judgement till I'd see benching from a few review sites.

Only a couple of hours and we will see lots of other benches that either confirm or put these slides in the bin. I do love a launch day, even if I am not buying :)

Really is a different price point when you compare AMD with Freesync against Nvidia with Gsync.

AMD gives an overall better experience than Nvidia for those on smaller budgets.

Like everyone here i'll be watching the reviews with great interest.. If nVidia beats AMD on performance/£ then that would be quite the coup.

With the 1060 being 250$ i would expect approximately 15-25% performance increase over a RX 480 at 200$ otherwise Nvidia would have released it at 200$.

Quite agree. The cheapest 27" 144Hz Freesync screen is £230 and the cheapest G-Sync screen with the same sort of spec is £390. So those wanting a new screen can save a few squid by buying a 480.
