GTX 1060 Vs RX 480 - head to head showdown

Excellent choice, now the thread is on a plain slate for facts. I do expect the 1060 to be faster than the reference 480 though. Unless benchmark is against board design vs board design. We will after wait and see.

Facts? There was never any facts and only Videocardz benches, which I have explained to you why I put stock in them. people who visit the thread for the first time will click the spoiler tag and get the same results.

Thank you - just think it is better to wait until actual benchmarks arrive, rather than have people arguing over the same week old benchmarks that have already been argued over :)

It's still a good idea for a thread title, just will be better when actual comparisons can be made when official benchmarks are released :)

I am very active in this forum and this is the first time I have seen those benchmarks in truth. Maybe I am not as active as I thought. You can get the thread closed if this has been done to death already.

Edit:

I wonder if Shankly would have thrown his toys out so much if the thread had the RX 480 winning? :p

Can still see em unspoiled couple of posts down! :D

Shhhhhhh :P

The results themselves didn't bother me, it's the fact these are proven old and misleading.

Let the 1060 smash the 480 by all means just make sure they fair results. Reference vs reference or AIO vs AIO and proven methods just like Digital Foundry videos..

Everything else I don't care about.

You keep saying that but where has it been proven? Where have these been posted before? I have just done a quick search and can't find anything. Show me or give it a rest.

Will wait and see about the accuracy of the "$249" pricing for the 1060, considering the the mythical $599 1080 that people kept quoting was nowhere to be seen even in US retailers :p

They were listed in the main 1060 thread:

Don't think there is an issue with keeping this one open for the time being.

Taken from Nvidia's official "reviewer's guide", leaked by Videocardz.com, these performance figures are obtained by Nvidia and are currently the only official performance results, at least until reviews start to appear on July 19.

Clickbait article.

If they're official Nvidia benchmarks I can't see the problem. There's very liitle info at present anyway.

I seem to remember the AMD 480 slides were posted in the forum and the AMD Fury reviewers guide that was leaked was also posted. I think that caused controversy because some felt the benchmarks were too low!

Would someone without bias for Nvidia post speculative, unconfirmed benchmarks that heavily favors one side just hours before all the big tech sites release their own? Heh, you decide.

Wait to see if he actually puts up proper reviews that don't come directly from Nvidia later on before condemning it completely.

Lol at all the haters already getting upset.

It is not hate. It is a thread based on well known details that apparently came from Nvidia. It was already in the 1060 thread, and is distracting when so many people will be looking for info on the GTX 1060 right now. Gregster knew exactly what he was doing lol. :p

I am one of those people looking for info in my boxer shorts trying to decide between 1060 and 480 :D

Best part of this thread is the arguing back and forth between people who will NEVER buy this card hahahahah...

a lot of heat being exchanged over something hardly anyone here would even consider in their own rig lol
