OCUK seems a little slow updating the news on the forum...can see them running round like headless chickens trying to fix main site!

Every geek and nerd in the country is probably smashing his/hers F5 key on the web store which isn't helping them get the site backup.

Yup so the aftermarket sellers did exactly what they weren't supposed to do - they priced all their cards above the FE not below it.

They didn't do it with the 1080 because there wasn't really any room to without getting into ridiculous prices that very few would pay. Here they can go higher than the FE and still say that it's £150 cheaper than their 1080 and thus a good deal. Which of course it isn't when you can buy a 1080 like the KFA2 EXOC with a nice custom cooler for just £100 more, but people flock to the major brands and pay the premium for them.

Well that's disappointing, £430 ish for a custom 1070. I'm not paying that, I'll hold onto my 970 now and wait until prices are more sensible.

..or the retailers are.

Most manufacturers aren't selling the 1080 above FE, so why would they do that with the 1070? The prices on the 1080 customs were lower than FE by some margin, then shot up when retailers saw the demand.
